Fraueninsel is the second largest of the three islands in Lake Chiemsee after Herreninsel. On the 15.5 hectares large and car-free Fraueninsel live in about 50 houses constantly around 300 inhabitants. This settlement on the island forms the village Frauenchiemsee, which is why the two terms Fraueninsel and Frauenchiemsee are often used synonymously.
Around the island leads an approximately 1.5 km long footpath. Bicycling is not permitted on the island. Delivery vehicles are only allowed on the island sporadically between the hours of seven and twelve. The island can be reached all year round by the Chiemsee-Schifffahrt scheduled boat service.
The Frauenwörth monastery shapes the character of Frauenchiemsee; it is a place of pilgrimage for Blessed Irmengard, the patron saint of Chiemgau.
In 782 Duke Tassilo III of Bavaria founded the monastery. After the destruction of the Hungarian invasions, it flourished between the 11th and 15th centuries. In 1728 and 1732 the monastery buildings were rebuilt. In the course of secularization the monastery was abolished from 1803 to 1835, but the convent continued to exist. In 1836 King Ludwig I of Bavaria rebuilt the monastery for the Benedictine nuns.

Thistle is the common name of a group of flowering plants characterised by leaves with sharp prickles on the margins, mostly in the family Asteraceae. Prickles can also occur all over the plant – on the stem and on the flat parts of the leaves. These prickles are an adaptation that protects the plant from being eaten by herbivores. Typically, an involucre with a clasping shape similar to a cup or urn subtends each of a thistle's flowerheads. The comparative amount of spininess varies dramatically by species. For example, Cirsium heterophyllum has minimal spininess while Cirsium spinosissimum is the opposite. Typically, species adapted to dry environments have greater spininess. The term thistle is sometimes taken to mean precisely those plants in the tribe Cardueae (synonym: Cynareae), especially the genera Carduus, Cirsium, and Onopordum. However, plants outside this tribe are sometimes called thistles, and when this is done, "thistles" would form a polyphyletic group. A thistle is the floral emblem of Scotland and Lorraine, as well as the emblem of the Encyclopædia Britannica. Biennial thistles are particularly noteworthy for their high wildlife value, producing such things as copious floral resources for pollinators, nourishing seeds for birds like the goldfinch, foliage for butterfly larvae, and down for the lining of birds' nests. 12710

Osmia bicornis, synonym Osmia rufa, is a species of mason bee, and is known as the red mason bee due to its covering of dense gingery hair. It is a solitary bee that nests in holes or stems and is polylectic, meaning it forages pollen from various different flowering plants. These bees can be seen aggregating together and nests in preexisting hollows, choosing not to excavate their own. These bees are not aggressive; they will only sting if handled very roughly and are safe to be closely observed by children. Females only mate once, usually with closely related males. Further, females can determine the sex ratio of their offspring based on their body size, where larger females will invest more in diploid females eggs than small bees. These bees also have trichromatic colour vision and are important pollinators in agriculture.

This tender fragile leaf stays as an synonym for Fragility. Not just in nature we often see something or someone that becomes very fragile to us!
Fragile refers to something or someone that is fragile and delicate. Fragile comes from the Latin fragilis, fragile. A glass can be very fragile, that is, very thin, easily broken. The psyche and constitution can also be very fragile, someone recovering after a grief, a disappointment, a mental crisis or a mental illness will be quite fragile for a while. For this reason, we should be considerate of people who are fragile, delicate and tender, because these qualities make a person a compassionate, humane and valuable fellow human being.

Typesetters and book printers call onion fish individual letters within a text from a different font or a different font style, for example a bold e in a word with normal weight. The term comes from lead type (hand type).
The term is said to go back to the onion fish Alburnus lucidus, which was considered an inferior fish and therefore became a synonym for inferior goods in the early modern period. An inattentive composer was also called an onion fish stall, analogous to the little-regarded market stalls of the onion fish traders.

Selenocosmia crassipes, synonym Phlogius crassipes, also known as the "Queensland whistling tarantula" (or "barking spider") is a species of tarantula native to the east coast of Queensland, Australia. The name "whistling tarantula" comes from its ability to produce a hissing noise when provoked, a trait it shares with other Australian theraphosids. This hissing is produced by the spider stridulating a patch of setae associated with its chelicerae. It has also been called the "eastern tarantula". The species name crassipes is Latin for "fat leg" referring to the relatively fat front legs.
Selenocosmia crassipes can attain legspans of up to 22 cm (8.7 in). Its body length, from eyes to the rear of its abdomen, measures between 6 and 9 cm (2.4 and 3.5 in), making it the largest Australian tarantula. (Wikipedia)

Lowland forest of Sabah, Borneo. One of the iconic frog of Borneo and Malaysia.
Location: Terengganu, Malaysia.
All Rights Reserved ©
Synonym : Rhacophorus robinsonii
Malay name: Katak Terbang Robinson
Also known as Robinson's Tree Frog or Robinson's Treefrog
Found it a few days ago while taking a group of beginners out on a herping trip, I was pretty stoke to see this species.
Habitat: Subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and intermittent freshwater marshes.
Distribution: Peninsular Malaysia and southern Thailand.
Description: Leptomantis harrissoni is of medium size, with the female (up to 70 mm) larger than the male (> 50 mm). It inhabits lowland rainforests. It is a brown, rather unspectacular frog with fully developed dark hand webbing. The snout is angular and pointed. There are normally a few white dots on its snout and cheek.
Like all Rhacophorus family members, little is known about them, probably because it spends most of its life high up in the trees canopy. But occasionally it will descend lower to about 1-2 m (in this current sighting was about 2m) from ground level.
Reproduction: Eggs are deposited in a foam nest that is attached to the bark above a tree hole.
Threat: Habitat loss.

Dahlia is a genus of bushy, tuberous, herbaceous perennial plants native to Mexico and Central America. Dahlias are members of the Asteraceae (synonym name: Compositae) family of dicotyledonous plants, its relatives include the sunflower, daisy, chrysanthemum, and zinnia. There are 49 species of dahlia, with flowers in almost every hue (except blue), with hybrids commonly grown as garden plants.
Dahlias were known only to the Aztecs and other southern North American peoples until the Spanish conquest, after which the plants were brought to Europe.
The tubers of some varieties are of medicinal and dietary value to humans because, in common with species of Inula and many other flowering plants, they use inulin, a polymer of the fruit sugar fructose, instead of starch as a storage polysaccharide.
