I've been complaining about how far away the cormorants have been on each and every walk with Scott and Sock this week.
Well I guess they heard me because yesterday they were close enough for a shot.
I walked around the lake and managed to get close to them, but in the end I preferred the photo I shot from a distance.

no.... there's no photo manipulation here. These lovebirds seemed to be a perfect match.
We had lots of sun showers today, and lots of rainbow lorikeets too, all displaying beautifully while preening their ruffled feathers.
Thanks everyone for your comments and favs! The Boyz think it's all a great game to play fierce. When you know them you know how sweet, cuddly and sensitive they are when you share the cookies! LOL

These three Mallards were feeding in the shallow marshy area of the lake at the arboretum. Grabbed this shot at they all ducked down at the same time.
I was hoping they would moon me but guess the lake was too shallow for them to go completely bottoms up. But I did manage to get that turtle photobomber as it was swimming around, probably hoping the ducks would stir up some edible snacks for it, too!
I watched a semi-silhouetted coastal brown bear mother and older cub walking along the sandy shoreline of Cook Inlet at low tide and waited to snap this shot until their leg positions were in perfect synchronization. Maybe this could be a new Olympic sport. Silver Salmon Creek, coastal Alaska, Pacific Northwest.

Conowingo Dam, MD
The actions really picked up at Conowingo Dam 11/29, non-stop at one point because more than 10 eagles fished at the same time ( I think, because I were busy to fire and no time to count the eagles), someone even said the card was full. And the eagles just ate the small fish in midair.
This photo was damaged and came out originally with a lot of orange it it.
This was as close as I could get to normal. I just liked it too much to give
up on it. You could also call it Dolphin Love.
Sandhill Crane family fly by from one corn field to another. It's amazing how they don't hit each other in the head with their wings.

A capture of two Northern Gannets (Morus bassanus) navigating their approach to a cliffside nesting colony. Hopefully, the composition beautifully highlights their impressive wingspans, distinctive yellowish heads, and stark black wingtips against the soft, muted backdrop of the sea. Below them, a vibrant carpet of pink Sea Campion flowers adds a gorgeous pop of colour, perfectly framing this dynamic wildlife moment.

It took me sometime to get the right expose on each elements in this image.
I used PlanIt app to find out the date and time for all three elements, i.e. setting moon, milky way, and keyhole aligment.

Ég hitt mann á nesinu í morgun sem vissi allt um fuglalífið þar.Langar til að deila þessum upplýsingum með ykkur Hérna eru svanirnir frægu, Svandís og maki hennar sem heitir í höfuðið á fyrrverandi bæjarstjóra Seltjarnarness. þau eignuðust 5 unga í vor sjá mynd hér að neðan, en núna eru aðeins eftir 4 sjá Einn þeirra fékk æxli í hálsinn og dó. Í fyrra komust líka bara 4 af 5 á legg, Flugfjaðrirnar komu aldrei fram á þeim fimmta, Hann var því fangaður af hjálparsveitinni á nesinu og fluttur í húsdýragarðinn. en þar var honum lóað eins og öllum hinm fuglunum þegar upp kom fuglaflensa. Nú fara þeir bráðum til vetrarstöðva sinna en þær eru einhversstaðar við Hornafjarðarósa.
