The mute swan (Cygnus olor) is a species of swan and a member of the waterfowl family Anatidae. It is native to much of Eurasia, and (as a rare winter visitor) the far north of Africa. The name 'mute' derives from it being less vocal than other swan species... wikipedia

A male swan (cob) tries to impress his feeding mate (called a pen). Didn't work tho.....

 

I believe these are tundra swans. Could be trumpeters, but don't think so. Tundra swans are decidedly more common.

Mon chat Sacha, est malheureusement mort en Janvier de cette année, Swan à quatre mois, il est arrivé hier soir, il ne remplacera pas Sacha, mais il trouvera sa place chez nous, et je pense qu'il nous a déjà adopté :-)

Trumpeter Swan not saying much, just feeding.

Swan's feather ... (not one drop will be soaked up ... the water-repellent properties are truly remarkable.)

One last swan image, I am quite excited about this pair and hoping to be able to observe them with their family.

With the evening mist rising, the Diana Fountain bubbling, a herd of Red Deer stags showing their now fully grown but still velvety antlers - what more could want than a warm sunset and a pair of swans gliding into place.
