I joined Chris Dodds and some other great photographers at the Pond at Elephant Head to shoot some bats this past September. It's quite an experience. Despite technical difficulties that seemed to plague me, I still came away with some pictures I'm proud of. This bat was captured by setting your camera to take a picture every 10 seconds. A beam is set up across a small (read small "very" small") pond which triggers the flash as a bat crosses the beam. You end up with a lot of black images and some wonderful keepers. I'll post an example of the other set up which uses a flower the bats love and triggers for both camera and flash.

The third and final image in the TotenTanz series that uses images from a cemetery to question the absoluteness of death.
In this case the "pano-sabotage" is used to both de-construct, and show in "RE-construction", funerary monuments in an historical graveyard.

A few words about this great place. The road leading to the sea from Umbria has to cross the mountains. This road crosses one of the most beautiful parts of the Apennines
Marchigiano Umbro. This rushing river had to dig the mountain. Its color is emerald green, the area is pristine and is always very cold. In summer also pulls very strong wind.
Even as a child along this road spellbound me to look at the height of the mountains and the wonder of this water.
The river is called Candigliano.

Hay personas que tienen buen gusto a la hora de procesar sus fotos. Eso es así y nadie se lo puede quitar... pero hay otros que además de tener esa virtud reinventan la foto dandole un aire absolutamente único.... moderno... cool (que le dicen ahora).
Lanpernas 2.0 es así... desmembra la visión que todos tenemos de las cosas insignificantes.. aparentemente planas y nos las hace redescubrir con otro aspecto .. con otra reflexión ....con otra vida...
Por ello al igual que ésta pobre María Antonieta ...... los que le seguimos ....esperamos que nos devuelva la capacidad de asombrarnos.. de recuperarnos del frio espanto de la guillotina ....de esa guillotina de la vulgaridad que cae todos los días sobre nuestras cabezas....
