Super butineuse fête le premier jour du printemps 😊

I'm late to the party, but I just got back from Yosemite with my friend Joshua Crites.

Great trip all around and spectacular supermoon views and alignment.

I know everyone has seen tons of Blood Moon shots, it was amazing. I got lucky with this single exposure as the full eclipse set into a tree on the granite northern rim of Yosemite National Park.

Thank you for stopping by !!

If you're a big bird it's probable you'll also have big feet!

(Especially when they double as paddles)

If Albert were shopping for shoes they'd have to be in the 'oversize' category for sure!

Very large trees covered in ivy.

Union Pacific rotary snowplow No. 900082 is eastbound approaching a snowbound Sharon Springs, Kansas, on New Year’s day nine years ago. Trains have been stranded there for several days, and this plow operated east from Denver to open up the Kansas Pacific line to Salina. High winds and 32 inches of snow buried the town during the December 29-30 storm. Providing motive power for the rotary train is a pair of GEs, with three support cars trailing the power, along with a backwards-facing EMD SD70M, to be used to pull the outfit westward out of a stuck position, if needed.

Amazingly clear night to witness the lunar eclipse of the super moon. So pretty.

Observed from Colorado

Despite the parachute structure of the individual Dandelion seeds being largely made up of empty space, it is believed their design creates a ring-shaped air bubble ("separated vortex ring") which slows their descent to the ground and allows them to spread further afield (and into my garden as an unfortunate consequence). It is thought their design is up to four times more efficient that a conventional parachute.

ARTHUR'S THEME – RONAN KEATING

The moon shines bright for me tonight

the day before the super moon

where all things seemed impossible

now dreams can all come true

the magic of the light plays tricks

with shadows on the walls

but the shadows that once darkened eyes

have gone as darkness falls

I sit here now at teatime

to write this poem for you

how could it be for anyone else

when the moon comes shining through

Luna you are my friend and sister

you make me smile each day

and I feel so much happier

when I see that you're okay

Both of us have shed our tears

together late at night

but now we both have found some joy

we beat that endless fight

compassion, love is all we need

a world devoid of pain

you paint the world so beautiful

bright rainbows after rain

and sometimes gentler, soft bokehs

in pastel shades and Roses

where little Bunny plays in gardens

Kitty made with love and posies

flowers, trees of such great beauty

adorn this peaceful place

as calm as the Sea of Tranquility

enchanting; filled with grace

So as I look up to the Moon

I know that you are there

seeing me through loving eyes

granting wishes; saying prayers

as Autumn falls and fades away

and Winter takes it's place

you promised me that I'd be well

in a butterfly dream I saw your face

Hermione waves her magic wand

as Harry stands idly by

She is the most important one

he recognised with a sigh

but he doesn't mind because he loves her so

and he's happy to let her shine

because he knows the moonlight comes from her

this beautiful sister of mine.

Super High Five en Navafría, Segovia. Spain.

These little beauties jumped out of the archive today and needed to be shared! Mana says it's time for bed now. Night night :)

The sign warned of being prosecuted or shot. So I took my photo and backed quickly away. It is possible this intriguing building is part of the Techatitticup Mine tour. Some day we will go back and find out.

Happy Window Wednesday!

Before work this morning, I ventured out to the Salt River area about 1/2 hour north of us. There is a "super bloom" in progress because of all the rain we've had this winter and spring. This photo does not do it justice at all. It was gorgeous! The poppies just blanketed the hillsides with their golden orange color. I was hoping to see some wild horses grazing (which they often do in this area), but no luck on that front. It was a really breathtaking drive and a wonderful start to the day. But poppy bloom or not, this is a gorgeous area with towering cliffs and beautiful views.

(some wild horses from a couple of weeks ago in first comment)

Work progresses on the new 'super sewer' which will run parallel to The Thames for 25km from Acton to Beckton.
