Yesterday night I had the little change to photograph Messier 101 The Pinwheel Galaxy with the Supernova. I gave it a go

This is the most breathtaking nebula I've ever seen!!!
The Sails supernova remnant is an unmissable target for any astrophotographer. A mosaic of four panels covers the nebula's main emission signals. The outer layer OIII envelops the ionized layers Ha and SII, forming an indescribably complex and layered structure!
The astrophotographer exposed for a total of 109 hours to capture this brilliant deep space scene 🤔

(Paolo Coelho)

Calcium, a key element in these calcium carbonate tufa rock formations, was formed in past supernovae.
What better way to view interstellar geology than under the (remaining) stars of the Milky Way?
This is our mini schnauzer Nova. It's winter. It's dark at 5pm. No better time to set up some lighting and get some pics of your dog jumping through his hoop. I triggered the flash/shutter with my foot as he jumped.
was incredibly inspired by anc's recent releases <3 and of course been in love with this dress from Maylee from October till forever.

The supernova remnant G65.3+5.7 in Cygnus is a huge structure with a size of ca. 3.5° x 4.5°.. It shows niche structures mainly in OIII. The object was discovered and classified as a SNR by Gulf et al. in 1977. Before its main elements Sh2-91, Sh2-94 and Sh2-96 were already catalogued in the Sharpless catalogue as single independent structures..The image was shot with my vintage SMC Pentax-M 135/3.5 lens at f/5.6.

Using the remarkable 570-megapixel Dark Energy Camera (DECam), astronomers have made a 1.3-gigapixel image of the ghostly Vela Supernova Remnant. The beautiful, detailed, and colorful image is the largest DECam image ever at 35,786 by 35,881 pixels, putting even the highest-resolution medium-format interchangeable lens cameras to shame !

The glass stars that flank the north and south sides of the Buzludzha tower were believed to be the largest in the world – at 12 m (39 ft) across. The stars were produced in Kiev using synthetic ruby glass, and weighed 3.5 tons apiece. They would be lit from inside the tower by a series of 32 spotlights, and powered by a generator large enough to power 500 homes.
Today its sits in ruin waiting for a conservation project to save it
