We were really not sure what this beautiful bird of prey was until we uploaded it to Merlin and it turned out to be a Juvenile Peregrine Falcon. One of the world's fastest birds; in power-diving from great heights to strike prey, the Peregrine may possibly reach 200 miles per hour. We usually don’t get pictures of this bird as they are in the water or in the air. Although it is found on six continents, the Peregrine is uncommon in most areas; it was seriously endangered in the mid-20th century because of the effects of DDT and other persistent pesticides but is making a comeback.

Jannuary 24, 2020 was the first day in service for A-ÖBB 1116 231 in it's new livery. At Salzburg Süd a group of railfans waited for REX 1512 from Salzburg to Wörgl to take a picture of that shiny train.
