I first came to Crete with my old friend Georg, a painter, in the early 90s. We lived in his fisherman's house and he talked about art, painting and times past. I think this has also shaped my way of seeing and taking pictures. The house and life were simple and I came home cleaned every time. 10 windows is a series of ten different windows that played a certain role in my previous career as a photographer and at the same time a kind of word play alluding to Windows10. When I was little, I often passed with my mother the prison of my birthplace Freising on the way to the market. Sometimes a detained person looked out the window. In the 60s, the prison was closed. In 2001, I was the first to have the opportunity to enter the premises, which had been closed for more than 30 years. I wanted to document the building in its original condition. As I walked up the stairs to the cells, I first saw this old booklet entitled "Penal system." My last two images of the window series are dedicated to the old prison and are also the prelude to a new series about the old prison, which I will upload in due course.

The municipality of Govone, located in the Roero on the left bank of the Tanaro river, in the province of Cuneo, but on the border with the Monferrato and halfway between the cities of Alba and Asti, due to its central position and favorable to trade, already in Roman times it was crossed by important communication routes.

10 windows is a series of ten different windows that played a certain role in my previous career as a photographer and at the same time a kind of word play alluding to Windows10. Insight into the look-out, the window as a field of experimentation. I like to stage the window as a transition between the outside and the inside, between light and darkness, provoking images through the non-visible in the beholder's mind or filling the "empty space" with the visible. This window was part of my work for a series in the local newspaper and belongs to an old house in a quarter of my hometown wich doesn't exist now. The entire district was converted into a parking garage. Hasselblad 500C/M, Zeiss Planar 2,8/80mm, Ilford FP4 dev. with ID-11, sol. 1:1, scanned with Nikon Supercoolscan 8000ED.
