I usually don't post similar shots back to back, but this sunset looked too good to pass up I thought it would look good beside the last sunset, although shot a few minutes earlier. Hope you like it!
5:54 pm, the sun hangs low, glowing through the haze. Tree branches stretch across the frame, breaking up the soft orange light. There's a quiet cityscape behind it all—power lines, buildings, the usual urban touch. What I couldn't get to work with this shot when uploading to Flickr were the crushed blacks. Not the best, but I like the shot, so here it is.

I'm reposting this favorite shot from three weeks ago because I want to thank everyone for all the attention it has received. It has obliterated all my previous records for comments and favorites.
I sent it to the Baltimore Sun for their weekly contest when the theme was fall foliage. On Nov 5th it appeared in the paper as the winner - my first time!
still waiting for time to take some sunshots.
meanwhile, dark and moody shots!!

Our very own star, whose Latin name is "Sol," ushering in a new day. For right now, most of my newly shot images will by necessity be scenes and things I see either in my apartment or out my windows, due to pandemic isolating. I hope nobody gets sick of seeing sunrises and sunsets!
I pray that you are all safe and well through this very horrible time! I sincerely thank our Lord for my family and friends, including my friends on Flickr, who I thank for your love and support!!

One more morning sun shot from my apartment, although a little later than a sunrise, I guess.. I'll go back to posting other subjects amongst my memory cards. Hope you like this shot. My little Canon A590 does a good job from my window. The sun's rays almost make it look like I'm using a star filter!

Yep...this is from this morning...i was taking these sunshots but decided to use some trees along the pier...and thats where I saw all those spiders and dragonflies. As I played with the DoF, the sun got more dramatic as bokeh...but as you can see here, it was pretty interesting already, in a hazy kind of way.
