Its Sunset Sunday!
I have no idea if I actually will post a sunset every sunday, but for now, it gives me an excuse to indulge in my favorite kitsch.
This was taken at the Mt Madonna Inn parking lot at the top of Hecker Pass on Highway 152. Its part of my daily commute, and now that the days are lengthening, this is what I sometimes see on the way home.

A totally cliche shot for Sunset Sunday, but I can't help myself. This is what I see when I finish my evening ride and it makes me happy. So there you go.
Those hills in the background are some of the taller peaks in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The tallest is the one on the left, Mt Loma Prieta, at 3786 ft / 1154 m, which may not seem like much, but these mountains rise straight from sea level. The San Andreas fault runs just behind those peaks and was the site of the epicenter of the 7.1 Loma Prieta Earthquake in 1989. I live just a few miles from that epicenter.

Its Sunset Sunday already?
This one's more like a still life than a sunset pic. But its my rules, so it totally qualifies.
Years ago I tried to get a #SunsetSunday thing going, but it never caught on. I don't do nearly as many Sunsets now as I did back then, but here is another from that same night as the one of the two silhouetted photogs sharing their images.

I meant to post this in time for Sunset Sunday, but due to overindulgence in food and wine, did not make it. So, here it is now.

As I was venturing home yesterday arvo, I noticed in my rear view mirror this epic HR burn not far from where I live. Once home I grabbed the camera and headed to my nearest lookout point in the national park.
Happy #sunsetsunday!

Sea Otter has Wifi, which means that I did not have to miss my Sunset Sunday posting. This was the scene behind me while I was photographing the sea otter (the real one in the prior pic).

Cool and gentle gradients due to the setting sun over a clear horizon. Would definitely recommend people to at least view such a nice sunset with your very own eyes at least once a month, it really calms the mind!

Had a firsthand at this new mthod of creating sharp and amazing landscape photos-especially in low light.
Results are superb, would strongly urge those who have access to great landscapes to try this out.

Whew, just in time for Sunset Sunday.
Spotted the yellowest sunset on my way home from work Friday. Pulled over in one spot and there were already like 5 photographers there. So I drove a little further down and there was only one other photographer so I pushed him off the cliff and took this.
