I want to be like a sunflower, so that even on the darkest days I will stand tall and find the sunlight.

On my travels today was a happy field of sunflowers...............

Sunflowers are from my wife's rock garden and the butterflies are mine :) We have always admired the large sunflowers and we are hoping to get some seeds for eating if butterflies don't eat them all :) This is our first attempt to grow some. Picture taken in our backyard. I don't do too many flower and insect macros but just had to take one for my wife :)

I am much enamoured with the Sunflower. Such beautiful vibrant colours!

I shot this Sunflower in my garden, as the sun was going down.. I placed a black piece of card behind it. I used a flash, set on fill flash on my camera. I angled the flash head slightly to the right, to give me more contrast and depth. I later post processed the image in LIghtroom.

An American Goldfinch goes after a sunflower seed. In a field of sunflowers there are plenty to eat and lots of birds going after them. Still, it is a challenge to capture them with their undulating flight as they fly in and out so quickly!

Hello everyone! Back to reality now after a lengthy road trip during the Christmas holiday. Happy New Year to you all - I hope 2022 marks the return to normality.

Our first stop during the Christmas holiday was in the district of Lopburi as we headed north. During late November and December many of the fields in this area are full of sunflowers - they are something of a tourist attraction and this field was more of an Instagram opportunity rather than a proper crop
