that was my thought when I entered the room in the morning and saw this sunflower

Thank you for your visit and have a lovely day! :)

Sunflowers are from my wife's rock garden and the butterflies are mine :) We have always admired the large sunflowers and we are hoping to get some seeds for eating if butterflies don't eat them all :) This is our first attempt to grow some. Picture taken in our backyard. I don't do too many flower and insect macros but just had to take one for my wife :)

Sunflowers follow poppies. As I could see this morning, these have also completely faded in the meantime. Here they are still in their full splendor and glory.

Auf den Mohn folgen die Sonnenblumen. Auch diese sind, wie ich heute früh sehen konnte inzwischen komplett verblüht. Hier zeigen sie sich noch in voller Pracht und Herrlichkeit.

I can't explain my fascination with sunflowers

After lots of rain this sunflower is trying to hang on.

Taken while looking for squirrels in Chatham Cemetry.

Thank you for your visit

Have a great day, whateveer day,you are reading this

Through the barn doors and into the sunflower field.

I placed this sunflower in front of the farm's verbena plot, secured by my Plamp, which is attached to my tripod. I had to wait for a bee to finish with it, as he'd mess up the focus stack. It's comprised of 35 frames, blended with Helicon Focus.

There's a big variety of sunflowers blooming at Lexington Community Farm. This one is growing in the education garden. I'm looking forward to harvesting their leaves and seedheads for the goats and alpacas.

Grew three of this sunflower from seed.

Native to the Americas

Brought to Russia by royalty

Their popularity stands the test of time

They track the sun

The world's tallest sunflower reaches 30 feet and 1 inch.

They have a history of healing.

They have travelled to space

They are actually thousands of tiny flowers

There seem to be a lot more garden pests this year from mites, snails, slugs and caterpillars to fruit fly. Haven’t had fruit fly ever until now.

Have a lovely Tuesday.
