Yep, the person in the foreground was in perfect focus, and yep I went ahead and cropped them out. :-)) You know how it is, the "focus" has to be on the color!! :-)))
By the way the photo looks smashing (in my opinion) when viewed in the light box.
Maybe not a moth, and maybe not a flame, but If I didnt know better, I'd think all the critters were posing for me today. My morning magic. This is down at the marina, and i was taking shots of the boats and rising sun, but found everyone wanted to be a celebrity in flickr land...dragonflies and spiders, at least... Happy Friday!

HaPPY BoKeH DaiSY DaY !!!
A daisy in the early morning sunbokeh.
Hope your day is sunshiny as Daisy´s day………..
Buzzzzzzzzzy, so miss me like I miss the sun here………
I woke to total mist and a grey morning as the clocks went forward an hour .... but as the sun broke through the mist, the scene changed ..... to this.
The world can be so beautiful even as the news is full of tragedy ... it can seem inappropriate to feel joyful!
So while downloading the photos I played a favourite uplifting track of mine - here in a live performance.
No need for comments, I just hope it lifts your spirits too 😊

My hair has the same length as it did in the last photo that felt like this, although I haven’t cut it in the meantime. I have spent a lot of days this summer doing nothing, but not the good kind. They were filled with thoughts about all the things I didn’t have time for, because I didn’t take care of the important ones. The worst thing about all of it is that I have a feeling I have been stuck in this phase for so many years that I don’t even know what it’s like to not be like this.
But sometimes, a little bit of motivation appears out of nowhere and I try my absolute best to hold onto it. Having my hair cut is one of those things I can easily procrastinate on for over a year, but somehow it fixed itself lately and I really don't mind not having to spend any money on it. And this was me trying to summarize what I have been up to, while having no idea whatsoever.
Day 147

I know ... I've been away for a while ... I have some explaining to do. I will have to explain more later but for now I'll say that soon I'm going to be making my stream private to everyone but my contacts, and then I'll be culling my contacts to limit them to folks with whom I've developed some kind of Flickr love that I just really don't want to do without. For a myriad of reasons I just can't continue to indulge the Flickr obsession that I had going in the past, as much as I've loved every minute of it.
All that aside, I've really missed you guys! And I've missed posting, and I'm happy to be doing so again now. By the way, I'm really kinda digging working in black and white right now! I'm again feeling really torn between the worlds of color or monochrome, but I'm feeling less conflicted and more resigned to the idea that perhaps I'll always be torn between the two and that can just be part of what I'm about as an artist. ;)
Love to all my Flickr friends and I'm sorry for my long absence!
Took this with my 50mm, so the Assassin Bug isn't very macro, but I thought overall this came out pretty neat. The sun was setting in the background as he was crawling up a branch. And ya know, I still don't have my contacts so I was pretty surprised using my manual focus.
"Assassin Bug nymph, Family Reduviidae. These bugs are friends of the gardener. They have ravenous appetites and will help control harmful insect pests in your yard naturally. There is a minor downside. Treat them with respect. They can inflict a painful bite with that sucking mouth of theirs. There is an irritant that is released when the bug bites, probably associated with digestion, but the effect is mild. Once again, the bite is painful."
Have a fantastic weekend!!!
I never really tried to shoot a bokeh-only shot before this, so here's my first serious attempt to give my photos an edge (five, actually). The bright orange pentagon in the photo is the Sun! I will try more bokeh shots in the future for sure, they look so amazing.
Arggghhh! I just wrote the longest description ever for this! And apparently I didn't save it... ahhhhh! I'll try to condense it... basically, I wasn't going to post this.. I was going to leave an archive as a 365 for today... but I thought since I actually took a photo... I should use it, regardless if it isn't up to 'par'. It was absolutely impossible to capture the flare (completely unedited flare!) without all the distracting foliage to the right in the background...Didn't want to clone it out as then I would have messed up the flare, and well I'm not that advanced... ;D I haven't written a proper explanation/moan/winge whatever in ages... sooo the end ;)
I must say... this flare brings me joy.
Day .181.
I had been trying to do a set up shot with these glasses but it never turned out. I finally decided that natural light was the best option because of the reflections. I moved the glasses (and the champagne bottle) countless of times before seeing this view.
The sun was going down and it created a wonderful bokeh effect in the background. (there was a small pond of water reflecting the sun and car lights to create the effect). The lighting was perfect for what I wanted to create.
I like the contrast of the glasses and the classic champagne bottle vs. the old, faded picnic table.
Oh, no. Another flower picture.
This was taken early this morning and the sun came up over the garden wall. Still, I had grand plans for some various shots (read something different than flowers) to try out. Instead, my husband spent the day banging out the tile in the foyer to ready the room for new tile (yay!) while I declared war on the weeds in the backyard.
Can I put my foot down and slow down this merry-go-round called life?
It's that time of year that I have to add "Sunglasses" to my Pack-for-Work list. Yesterday, I went to put them on & I couldn't see a thing. I quickly remembered Becks wearing them on Monday. Cleaning them required some scrapping. I honestly just learn to see through the filth. I'm not sure my sunglasses have been clean in the past 5 years.
Yep. I'm a Mom.
The fruit or seed of a grass plant is beautifully colored at harvest time for a few species. I find this particular grass to have a unique color and characteristic that intrigues me and my camera.

I'm not sure what they are, but they looked pretty interesting in front of a little rising sun bokeh. :)
found this lonely little drop of water on the side of my window this morning! i liked how the sun was rising in the background too!
