Things quiet down pretty fast at day's end in Algonquin Park. The stillness is wonderful with only a few bird calls to break the silence. The blackflies, however, are another story. They are nefarious and persistent little devils - flying up your nose, into your ears, and crawling under your clothing - all to slice into your skin, using their saliva to make it bleed nicely, and gorging themselves full at your expense. Small wonder it's so quiet in the evening. It's best to take someone along that's willing to act as bait while you get your shot. ;)
Today is the 50th Anniversary of the First American Spacewalk!
Astronaut Ed White, pilot for the Gemini-Titan 4 (GT-4) spaceflight, floats in the zero-gravity of space during the third revolution of the GT-4 spacecraft. His face is covered by a shaded visor to protect him from the unfiltered rays of the sun. He remained outside the spacecraft for 21 minutes during the third revolution of the Gemini 4 mission. In his right hand, he carries a Hand-Held Self-Maneuvering Unit (HHSMU) with which he controlled his movements while in space. He was attached to the spacecraft by a 25-feet umbilical line and a 23-feet tether line, both wrapped together with gold tape to form one cord. He also wears an emergency oxygen supply chest pack.

Pretty sure I've seen both of these builds in genuine LEGO built by another AFOL - I don't know whether they ripped him off or it was commissioned (doubt it) but both are pretty cool models. Instructions are very good; I'll get some more photos of everything once I've finished the build.

OK, here is an idea that I have been saving for a special occasion.
And that came today when i watched the 365 podcast. My Day 155 shot has been voted the photo of the week. It got to appear in the podcast. So i kinda felt it a bit apt to do this shot with my old cine camera today, and the title sums up the fact that it made my day!
So thanks guys for voting for me, i really appreciate it.
