The golden temple in Amritsar is made, as the name says, in pure gold. It is a shrine in the middle of a large pool. The place is truly suggestive and the spirituality which emanates a similar building can be felt just walkin around it. One of the best moments I got for photographing it was close tp the sunset, backlit, when the sun make explode its gold. And this is it. Doesn't seems one of those temples taken from one of those fantasy tales?

This is more of a symbol of shock and hope than a good photo.
Less than 10 years ago I took this image in Kyiv. Its a shot across Liberation Square, from one Ukrainian church tower to another. I was honoured to be invited there for work. My wife was with me and we happily wandered around the old city at the Weekend. The atmosphere was suggestive of Paris. How things have changed! What a sad a terrible day it is with rockets falling on this and other cities in Ukraine as I type. War is a failure in politics and understanding on all sides. Does it ever resolve anything? Or does it just raise the next generation of problems?
Cefalù, on the north coast of Sicily 60 km from Palermo, is a splendid village declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2015.
With strong Arab-Norman characteristics in architecture and traditions, it is known for the Norman cathedral, the Madonie Park that surrounds it and the wonderful sea.
During the summer season, the small town gets to triple its population, which fills the most important squares and streets of the town.
The atmosphere is truly suggestive, among ancient houses facing the sea, breathtaking sunsets and timeless architecture.

Sea stacks on China Beach. The Oregon Coast has a large number and variety of such rock formations. They are millions of years old. Only the hardest cores remain standing while everything around them has been eroded away. Their shapes are very suggestive to the imagination, and it's easy to see faces, animals and mythical temples!
Pisa, così come Firenze, è attraversata dall'Arno.
Pisa, like Florence, is crossed by the Arno. The Pisan lungarni, with the marvelous buildings that decorate them and the bridges that survived the bombings of the Second World War are the most suggestive and famous places in Pisa.
Many poets and artists have let themselves be enchanted by the Lungarni Pisani drawing inspiration from the splendid noble palaces overlooking the Arno.
Today this route also boasts important museums, creating a real "museum system" on the Lungarni.

Monte Pellegrino is one of the most loved places by the inhabitants of Palermo and its tourists: it is a promontory over 600 meters high, called by the Arabs Bel Grin, or nearby mountain, and which borders on one side the Gulf of Palermo, on the other the Gulf of Mondello.
Here, at 429 meters above sea level, stands the Sanctuary of Santa Rosalia, patron saint of the city of Palermo. The Sanctuary is a pilgrimage site that gathers numerous visitors and faithful every day.
A very suggestive place, not only for its geographical position but above all for the meaning it represents the sacred place of the Palermitans.
Johann Wolfgang Goethe, in his essay Journey to Italy called it "the most beautiful promontory in the world".

(Giovanni Fattori)
This tree bent by the wind, burned by the salt, after more than 150 years still resists in Livorno. Today it is called "The tamarisk of love". It was born among the rocks on the seafront of Livorno, between Ardenza and Antignano, a romantic and suggestive corner, it is the symbol of the character of the city of Livorno. It is the same Tamerice of the "La libecciata", the painting by the Macchiaiolo Livornese Giovanni Fattori of 1880 that represents a real landscape of Livorno. The Antignano tamerice has inspired numerous artists and poets, even Modigliani besides the Fattori here had painted. It is a Tamerice that is colored every night by the colors of an ever-changing sunset, which captures an energy that has made it resistant and strong. --- "I believe that the artist must leave him free in his manifestations to produce the beauties of nature".

The Mascagni Terrace is one of the most elegant and suggestive places in Livorno and is located on the seafront. It was built starting from the 1920s, but the terrace was considerably extended in the immediate post-war period, when it was named after the Livorno composer Pietro Mascagni.
The Mascagni Terrace is a large square bordered towards the sea by a sinuous balustrade made up of 4,100 elegant concrete conglomerate columns; the floor consists of a 8,700 square meter chessboard made up of 34,800 black and white tiles.

Obelisk and Statues at Luxor Temple, Egypt
Luxor is a city on the east bank of the Nile River in southern Egypt. It's on the site of ancient Thebes, the pharaohs’ capital at the height of their power, during the 16th–11th centuries B.C. Today's city surrounds two huge, surviving ancient monuments: graceful Luxor Temple and Karnak Temple, a mile north. The royal tombs of the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens are on the river’s west bank.
Luxor Temple is an accretion of structures erected by succeeding kings. The principal entrance today is the Pylon of Ramesses II (c.1279-1213 B.C.E.), which is flanked by two seated statues of the king (one is behind the obelisk) and one standing statue (of an original four). The remaining obelisk of pink granite is situated in front of the easternmost seated statue. The western obelisk was removed and has stood in the Place de la Concorde in Paris since 1836. The vertical niches held flag staffs.
The pylon was half buried in sand until the 1800s but when cleared it revealed two towers measuring 24 meters high and 65 meters wide. They are carved in sunken relief depicting Ramesses at the battle of Kadesh.
The pylon entranceway is suggestive of the Egyptian hieroglyph which means "horizon." In the hieroglyph, the circle of the sun is flanked by two stylized mountain shapes. Most Egyptian temples had an east-west axis so that the sun would symbolically rise and set between these pylon/mountains. Luxor Temple, however, has a north-south axis.
Two colossal, seated statues flank the entrance pylon of Luxor Temple. They are 46 feet/14meters in height. Ramesses II (c.1279-1213 B.C.E.) wears the royal headdress topped by the Double Crown of Upper and Lower Egypt.

To end a fantastic 2016 and wish you all a happy new year 2017, I'd like to post a selfie, a bit strange but introspective. I just want to dedicate it, to you all. Can't express how lucky I've been to share with you, the wonderful experiences that I've did this year. I will end with this one, a nigtht in the desert. Can't describe how much it has been suggestive to sit down, in the middle of some dunes in the Panamint region in the Death Valley, light up a cuban cigar, and enjoying the silence at the moonlight while making some selfies just for fun. This is one, me a cigar, the moon, the desert and you all my fellows. I've posed 30 seconds absolutely rigid to make this photo, and with this, I want to thank you all once more, for following my strange adventures this year. So, Happy new year and guess what comes next...
This sandstone buddha head apparently fell of the statue on to the ground and was trapped in the roots of this growing Bodhi tree.
The wide and flat facial features with thick eyebrows, big eye lids , straight wide lips and discerning lip edge is suggestive of the art of Middle Ayutthaya period presumably around the mid 1600.
Taken at Wat Maha That, Ayutthaya, Thailand.
Many thanks for your visit, comments , invites and faves...it is always appreciated...

This is a photo taken with a combination of a 70-200mm f/4 with a teleconverter 2x. This Mountain Range was really far from us, but thans an excepional visibility and with a 400mm was pretty easy to see it closer. One day I will travel till there, and will do some shots to this suggestive mountain range but for now I can admire it with this photo. In the next day I will post a full panorama of the place so you can evaluate how far away from us was this crest.

The Cathedral of Palermo is one of the most characteristic monuments of the city: visiting it is like leafing through a history book of Sicily.
It is the main place of worship in the city of Palermo and has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Its highly original mix of styles, with elements of Greek, Roman, Arab, Norman, Catalan and Gothic art, is a direct consequence of the presence of multiple populations that, over the centuries, have alternated on Sicilian soil.
The style of the twelfth century prevails over all, the Norman one, although the appearance of the church as we see it today is due to modifications and additions from the eighteenth century.
A highly suggestive experience is the visit of the roofs of the Cathedral, thanks to which it is possible to discover the artistic and architectural elements of the external walls of the monument and admire Palermo from above.

This suggestive beach of the Atlantic ocean has been place of worship for more than two millennia. It used to host naturalistic rituals presumably dedicated to deities of the sea. The present catholic chapel was built in 1686 on the exact site where, according to the legend, a mysterious light was often seen shining over the rocks. This place is still today home of an annual three-day festival commemorating the site’s ancient past. According to witnesses and seeming signs of witchcraft reported after full-moon nights, it is still a site of secret ceremonies by neo-pagans

This is a popular spot for tourists to photograph the Golden Gate Bridge across the San Francisco Bay. I caught a glimpse of this boy posing, presumably for his dad, and putting on a dramatic expression seemingly suggestive of being overwhelmed and self-choked by the beauty of the Golden Gate Bridge behind him. Too cute to pass on this lovely angel. I gave up photographing an in-flight Double-crested Cormorant doing a low pass right in front of me in order to take this opportunistic shot.
To be honest I would never expected to shoot a similar photo in the Sahara. Or being so lucky to assist to a scene like this. I woke up at the very early morning to see a suggestive sunrise, but once I turned my head in the direction of the full moon, she was saying goodbye to me this way. What else to say? After a quick run in the sand to gain the right shooting angle, I just hope that I've been able to capture an simple as uncommon photo. Isn't it? shared with pixbuf.com

This open-air museum spans the Torre peninsula, Punta Herminia, O Acoroado and Cabal de Pradeira, over 47 ha, that is, occupying part of the limits of the area around the Tower (core zone). The sculptures are distributed in the green space that surrounds the Tower, in a very suggestive game of perspectives and in permanent dialogue with the monument itself. The theme chosen by the artists can be arranged around several thematic tracks:
The mythological stories that link the foundation of the Tower with Hercules himself or with the Celtic leader Breogán, whom 19th century historiography relates to the origin of the monument itself.
References to the world of the sea, navigation and routes, which tell us about that seafaring vocation that appears intrinsically linked to the past of the Galician people since the beginning of its history.
In this sculptural space, a series of pre-existing elements have been integrated, which are explained within their historical context by means of informative panels that spread the value they have within this place. Among them we can highlight: Monte dos Bicos, the Moro Cemetery and the beacons that help navigation. (Source: www.torredeherculesacoruna.com)

Close up of a stainless steel sculpture by Liliane Lijn.
Originally created in 1982 for the Norwich Central Library, the multiple plates are suggestive of book leaves. The construction provokes other interpretations depending on the viewing angle.
It is now located outside another library, that of the University of East Anglia, although the new location does it little justice. However, the move was fortuitous because the original library was later destroyed by fire.
Lijn has pioneered kinetic art and experiments with light, movement, words, film, liquids and industrial materials.
"Sliders" have enhanced colours but without hue changes. Steel textures are strengthened. I believe this is consistent with the spirit of Lijn's work.
