Amazing cruise this weekend! We had somewhere in the range of 125-150 Subarus on the road together. Love it. :D

Pretty much the first real video i have done with the 5dMKII. The first and third shots are with the 85L @ 1.2 and the second is the 50L @ 1.2 . Let me know what you all think.

One of the many shots from last Saturday's photoshoot for www.maydaygarage.com's upcoming feature. I haven't shot a car in awhile and when I finally am able to, I get a black car to shoot. I forgot how hard it was to shoot one. Sighs.
I also forgot my 17-40L for this shot so it's a bit tighter than I would've liked it to be. Another thing I forgot were my PWII cables for extra lighting on static shots. So much fail on my part but the shots came out ok... gotta make a checklist of equipment for next time.

While visiting my brother in MD, I told him one late afternoon that we should shoot his toys before I left the following week. Thirty minutes and a couple I-guess-that-should-work shrugs later, this is what we got.
I sort of had the idea in my head, but wasn't sure how I'd process it. Reading up on and researching tutorials to light an image like this beforehand would have been ideal, but all I knew was I would definitely need a tripod for ease in compositing later. With one handheld flash and another on a lighstand, we only did three sets of this 360-degree lighting before it got too dark (this was in an empty parking lot by a public park/soccer field).
My brother would sit at the camera to take the shot while I would aim the flashes towards the bike and car, taking two steps to the right after each exposure. Check the image in the comments for reference.
These are essentially SOOC as I at first exported one batch from Lightroom just to test the technique. I got so engrossed in PP that I completely forgot I hadn't even color corrected or made any adjustments in LR. But with a couple layer masks in Photoshop, all was well once again in the Yamaha-R6-Subaru-STi-strobist-shooting world.
Not bad for a first try!
