I saw something today, it reminded me of you.
Everything fucking reminds me of you.
I saw a picture of a cat. An ad for a bath.
There was this one time, I think it was like
something we once laughed at.
The worst is when it's a song, I can't shut it off
when it's one of those. It gets stuck in a loop,
or is that just me, where for those three minutes
and twenty seven seconds, there's someone else
that I swear is inside of my head. Or even worse, yours.
I stare at your name in those moments,
once or twice I've slipped up and said something stupid.
Just to get over the space, until I can crawl along.`

SO I had a really AWESOME valentines day. All except for this flying kid that kept following me around and shooting me with these arrows that didn't even hurt. SO!! I tell him YO BABY DUDE I'M HAPPILY MARRIED. But still he kept following me and shooting me POON POON POON. Next year i'll carry a frying pan with me I'll show him.

He tried to climb up this stalk.
He came almost to the top and then he slid down again.
I watched this for 15 minutes and had fun.
Maybe you are wondering who is stupid, the beetle, too stupid to climb.

Just after sunrise, a poorly timed cloud shrouds out enough of the sun to dull, but not ruin the arrival of L549 as they approach Plains to work the industries in KI Sawyer.
This weeks Snap Happy theme of 'Fruit' was chosen by Gaz.
Given I got stung by a bee while trying to make this image, I thought I should post it even though I am not totally convinced by it.
I had the idea of doing the PEP Ventosa technique on the fruit bowl where you walk around it and take images in the round as a set of multiple exposures. Hence I was in the backyard in bare feet, walking around the fruit bowl which was propped up on a cardboard box with velvet draped around it. Pretty stupid when I am allergic to bees and generally swell up like an elephant. We got the sting out without the sac breaking I think so I got away with a localised swelling that hasn't spread.
Anyway, the multiple exposures didn't work so I used just one image and had fun playing with it.
I took this Sunday afternoon. Rode down to the pier and we spotted two individuals way out walking on the ice. You can visually see the open water also. So someone called the police and there was not much anyone could do but they finally walked back and it was two teenagers. Well the policeman gave them a good talking to. Two days ago this was open water beyond the ice caves. So very dangerous.
I just finished teaching a short class on photography, and the first thing I said... Watch your background, it is the difference between your shot looking like a good photographer captured it and a kid on vacation captured it. But the bird was not letting me pass on the bridge to get to the other side. I was stuck with what I got.
I can't blame him for being so baffled at seeing such a stupid homo sapiens sapiens (although for the animal I was no doubt homo neanderthalensis) climbing up what was a rather steep slope. Usually you realize how steep it is only when you go down and see it "in front of you"... :-) :-( :-) For them it's a piece of cake to walk in such terrain, for me it isn't.
