Whilst visiting Shwe Yan Pyay monastery, Myanmar, two novices unselfconsciously sat down, started praying and writing in their exercise books. Instantly it ceased to be a dusty ill kempt if beautiful building to become a living place of learning and worship - of course it had always been so, but it took these novices to open our eyes.

Thanks to Yara for walking around half-naked in the cold corridors of Golgi II, and for losing an hour of precious studytime to be part of one of my crazy ideas.
studyguide:
calculator, pen and paper: basics -you know you need them
notes: well, who can remember all the stuff they read after all
laptop: the know-it-all friend that has become essential for a lot of us - and great for when you need to think about real life for a moment (thank you facebook)
and talking about essentials:
the book: you can't google your way through exams, READ THE BOOK
and last but not least the coffee to keep you alert and awake..
oh and the brain is also kinda useful in the process of studying for exams...
( don't know what his wallet is doing there since he didn't leave the house for days
This is me just hours away from my last final.
I had not slept in days :( I was completely exhausted!! I just wanted to get the whole exam over with already.
Restlessness of a study hour!!
My daughter declared she would not do her work unless I sat down near her thru the 45 minute work.
While she was at it in those 45 minutes of having nothing else to do I captured her facial expressions. As she is not the one who would sit without moving even for a minute I knew it would be a feast for the lens.
Some of the frames are a little blurred nevertheless I think they still are clear enough for the inclusion of expression.
hope u all enjoy it.
Another shot of one of my favourite Southend buildings. This is the Student accommodation for the University of Essex.
It's ground floor is a selection of retail establishments and access to the lowerground carpark.
The three red bordered blocks at the top are a seperated-hands clock.
I'm back home from my trip to Boston, and now I am diving into studying for my upcoming Master's Comprehensive Exam. It's in two weeks, and sums up all that I've been working on for the past three years. If I pass, then I'll graduate in May!
On a rainy chilly (read: beautiful!) day like this, what can make studying better more than freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and a tall glass of cold milk? :)

A corner where we have an old school desk setup for Dylan's school supplies, and a place where he can work on it... Frosty is standing guard for us!
