Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

Whilst not the biggest of the major glaciers in Los Glaciares National Park, Spegazzini Glacier is a hugely impressive sight, if for no other reason than the sheer size of its wall, which can tower as high as 135 metres (440 feet).

The Spegazzini glacier is one of the bordering glaciers between Argentina and Chile after the Agreement to specify the route of the limit from Mount Fitz Roy to Cerro Daudet in 1998 . The lower section of the glacier is located in Argentina, in the Lago Argentino department of the Santa Cruz province . Its source is in Chile, in the province of Último Esperanza in the Magallanes region . It is protected by the Bernardo O'Higgins and Los Glaciares National Parks.

It has an area of 134 km² and an average width of 1.5 km . The glacier originates from the South Patagonian ice field and flows eastward, reaching the Spegazzini arm of Lake Argentino . Its main characteristic is the great height of its front, which reaches 135 m, making it the highest in Los Glaciares National Park and one of the most important. The vegetation around it produces a marked contrast of colors, produced by glacier erosion, humidity, wind and the sun.

It owes its name to the botanist Carlos Luis Spegazzini , who was the first to study the local flora.

The glacier is fed by the Mayo Norte and Peineta glaciers. In addition, it has the peculiarity of not showing signs of retreat, which is a phenomenon common to large glaciers.

4 minutes before sunset. The golden rim of the setting sun picks up the blue sky and white clouds. But it's the colors reflected in the calm sea that make this photo special. Enjoy!

Photo taken from the bluffs near the Mar Vista trailhead, just south of New San Simeon.

Just had to post one more image of my favourite backlit sheep on Bodmin Moor, as the lighting approaching sunset was so good. In tighter for this shot, and she posed beautifully looking directly to camera....probably thinking, what is this idiot crawling towards me doing !!! Awful weather again in Cornwall today.

The new Professor found her barings and settled into School nicely. There were a few things still left to do before the term started officially next week, and many things to consider as she settled into her new role. For now, she pulled out a book - there was material to review.

In John Rylands Library, Deansgate, Manchester UK

For those who set eyes on Deansgate's The John Rylands Research Institute and Library for the first time, 'library' might not be the first word that comes to mind. This masterpiece of Victorian Gothic architecture looks more like a castle or cathedral.

When John Rylands died in 1888, he was one of Manchester's most successful industrialists with a personal fortune of £2.75million. The library was commissioned in 1890 by his wife Enriqueta Rylands in memory of her late husband.

This world class collection includes the oldest known piece of the New Testament, the St John Fragment. Other treasures of the vast, varied collection include magnificent illuminated medieval manuscripts and a 1476 William Caxton edition of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales.

I hope to find time for a lith print :D

A new flower for me - the African Lily or Agapanthus. The flower heads are big, full of flowers and rather drooping and shaggy - like a very bad hair day! So I took a few of the small flowers, and used the sunlight streaming through the window.

There'a a window, some bokeh and plenty of textures - so ....

i posted a black and white interpretation of this photograph last year, and i thought it would be interesting to go back to the original, cropped in a similar way to see the landscape in its 'real' skin. radicofani is in the background, to the right, balancing the farmhouse and orchard / vineyard in the foreground left. i've cropped this version a little tighter to draw more attention to radicofani's tower (though it doesn't really need the help.) i still prefer the monochrome version, though i like this color take on the scene quite a bit. this visit to toscana was my first outing wtih my (then) newest DSLR, and i was just starting to get comfortable with the new camera at about this point. a good exposure preserved the option of processing in either color or black and white.

this was shot with a nikon d800 mounted with a nikkor 24mm - 70mm f/2.8 lens. this is my typical setup for walking around the countryside.

I converted the pictures of this series to black and white. But a few of them I processed in color, just out of curiosity.
