I always get so caught up in work that I can't be bother to tidy afterwards. I keep telling myself I don't have the time.... I do just fine in the mess but spend quite some time looking for things. So who am I kidding?
Studio 26 - Something New
Due to travel the last two weeks, I really didn't get to explore this assignment the way I would have liked, but I did take some photos that are outside my "normal".
A friend is raising a litter of five chihuahua puppies whose mother was unable to raise them. I took photos last week at 6 weeks of age. What cuties!
I consider this outside my usual range of animal photography because 1) they aren't posed. at all. they moved wherever they wanted and quite rapidly too. 2) I was trying to get multiple puppies per shot. 3) the point was to try to make them look adorable for potential adopters. 4) they are light colored and I am more used to dark subjects. 5) I don't do a lot of action shots.
Lucy has names for all of them, but I refer to them as Uno, Dos, Tres, Quatro, and Einstein. I think this is Uno (white girl, also known as Bianca), and Einstein (gold male, smartest of the litter according to Lucy.
A couple more photos can be seen here.
Studio Session showing my students how to do a dramatic 4 strobe light set up. 3 softboxes, and one diffused hair light. These were all done with Elinchrome lights and remotely triggered.
Processing is done in lightroom. Details on my blog:

The low-rent "photo studio" I use for shooting my vinyl collection and our Converse collection.
D70s on a tripod; SB-800 flash connected via cord (because the commander mode preflash was giving me a reflection off of the album cover) and haphazardly balanced on the legs of a folding table, which stands on top of another folding table; white dress shirt substituting for an umbrella; black sheet draped over my futon couch as a backdrop; camera aimed as closely as possible (when eyballing) to match the plane of the LP to minimize distortion; triggered using the ML-L3 wireless remote.
Most 'studios' are quiet places, this one benefits from the constant noise of water lapping on rocks.

Manfred and I are swapping studios. He needs more space now that he is a freelance illustrator, and his old studio was too small for him.
Got a studio for Christmas! Took this while experimenting with it and liked how it came out. Excuse my dorky face I didn't feel like putting on make up.

RCA Studio B is a music recording studio in Nashville built in 1956. Originally known simply by the name RCA Studios, it became notable and famous in the 1960s for being an essential factor to the development of the production style and technique known as the Nashville Sound. A sophisticated style characterised by background vocals and strings, the Nashville Sound both revived the popularity of country music and helped establish Nashville’s reputation as an international recording centre. It’s adjacent building, RCA Studio A, was also later central to the development of this technical artistic sound.
