A Slice Of Life. Studio Ghibli, Inc. (Japanese: 株式会社スタジオジブリ Hepburn: Kabushiki-gaisha Sutajio Jiburi) is a Japanese animation film studio based in Koganei, Tokyo, Japan.[1] The studio is best known for its anime feature films, and has also produced several short films, television commercials, and one television film. It was founded on 15 June 1985, after the success of Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (1984), with funding by Tokuma Shoten.
Eight of Studio Ghibli's films are among the 15 highest-grossing anime films made in Japan, with Spirited Away (2001) being the second highest, grossing over US$290 million worldwide. Many of their works have won the Animage Anime Grand Prix award, and four have won the Japan Academy Prize for Animation of the Year. Five of Studio Ghibli's films received Academy Award nominations in the United States. Spirited Away won a Golden Bear in 2002 and an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film in 2003. Totoro, a character from My Neighbor Totoro, is the studio's mascot.
On 3 August 2014, Studio Ghibli announced it was temporarily halting production following the retirement of director Hayao Miyazaki, who co-founded the studio with Isao Takahata. In February 2017, Toshio Suzuki announced that Hayao Miyazaki had come out of retirement again to direct a new feature film, "How Do You Live?", with Studio Ghibli.
Rob was kind enough to stand in for some studio setup testing. The background of this set was actually busy as hell, so it took some work to convincingly collapse it into black.

Dovecot Studios is an important tapestry studio in Edinburgh. It was established by the 4th Marquess of Bute in 1912, as an offshoot of William Morris’ workshops in London. Dovecot Studios was originally based in Corstorphine in a purpose built studio next to a 16th century dovecot. After the Second World War, the studios became known as Edinburgh Tapestry Company. In 2001 it lost its financial support and went into liquidation. Since 2008 Dovecot Studios has been using the refurbished Victorian Infirmary Street Baths in central Edinburgh.
By city architect Robert Morham, 1885-87. Sympathetic conversion to tapestry studios by Malcolm Fraser Architects, 2009. The rectangular former swimming pool area is now workshops and the original open-timbered roof supported on tiers of cast-iron columns has been retained.
Not sure how bright this image appears on other computer screens, hope it's not too over-exposed....
Anyway, another college workshop on how to create a Rankin stlye studio portrait with a white backdrop.
EDIT: I couldn't really avoid the "cool sci tones" on this image seen as my hair actually was blue at the time and I am actually that pale.

This building is home to Quad Studios and is located in Times Square in Manhattan, NY. There are recording studios where many famous rap stars have cut records at including Biggie, P. Diddy, and 50 Cent. This also became the starting place for East Coast and West Coast Rap battle for the actions that happened here on Nov 30, 1994. On that night, Tupac showed up at the studios and walked through the front door. It was the day before the verdict came of his molestation case. A couple of men jumped out, shot 2Pac 5 times and robbed him. He was meeting Biggie upstairs and saw him after he was shot. He accused Biggie of setting him up. The next day, after surgery, 2Pac was taken to the courthouse in a wheel chair and was found guilty on 3 counts of molestation. He released his album Me Against The World from jail. Right after that, his case came up on appeal, but he couldn't come up with the 1.4 million dollars for his lawyers so Suge Knight paid that money as long as 2Pac would sign with Death Row. He did and the biggest rap battle had begun. And it all started here.
It's been a really slow year for uploading to Flickr.
