The Wikipedia entry for this location says that it is “not to be confused with Madison Square Garden”.

Spaceboxes are little prefab apartments for students. There are 96 of these boxes situated in the center of Amersfoort (The Netherlands). Every space box is only 18 m2. As mentioned these boxes are meant for students to live in who are studying in Amersfoort.

First it was Saint Barnabus' Church ~ but that was before even I was born. Then it was the Rialto Cinema ~ where I saw "Bambi." Then it was the North West Deaf Association Social Centre ~ they used to rent it out for "events" and I did my friend John Hughes a favour by videoing a biker's wedding reception here. Then it was student accommodation. Now it's a wreck.
The Lancashire Evening Post says that five youths aged 10 to 12 are helping the police with their enquiries.
YOUTHS?
I'd call them children.

Correction:
It was built on the site of the Ribble Bus Station, not "a former children's hospital".
Update:
Since corrected.
The Ziggurats, University of East Anglia – Norwich, Norfolk
These striking student halls, containing around 600 student rooms, were built between 1964 and 1968, designed by Sir Denys Lasdun, one of Britain’s leading modernist architects. Their bold stepped profile and modular layout were part of the brutalist movement — unapologetically geometric, concrete and ambitious. The terraces face south towards the UEA lake and were intended to give every room sunlight and a view.
Construction cost in the late 1960s was around £1.2 million, a major investment for the expanding university sector of that decade. Despite initial resistance to their appearance, they became admired as a landmark of post-war British architecture and were later granted Grade II* listing for their innovation in mass student housing.
In 2023, all accommodation inside the Ziggurats was closed until further notice, following government guidance on structural concerns surrounding RAAC – Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete. RAAC is a lightweight, bubbly concrete used widely in the 1960s–80s. It was quick and cheap to install, but its lifespan is often only 30–40 years, and it can fail without warning — especially when exposed to moisture. The problem has affected schools, hospitals, offices and universities across the UK, including UEA.
As the building is listed, any repairs or replacement materials must meet heritage requirements, making solutions complex and expensive. A design competition has now been launched to explore refurbishment or reuse options for the next 50 years — but no reopening date has been confirmed. For now, the Ziggurats remain unoccupied: a celebrated concrete vision awaiting its second life.
Caton Court is student accommodation comprising single and 'cluster' apartments, gym, cinema, study areas and a 'sky lounge' with views across the surrounding area.
The University of Tasmania (UTAS) was founded in 1890, making it the fourth oldest university in Australia. But its real history goes back much further. In fact its oldest residential college, Christ College in Hobart was founded in 1846, making it the oldest tertiary institution in the country.
The now ubiquitous UTAS logo of the red lion and torch of learning is a relatively modern design. The full story is outlined for those interested by Emeritus Professor Arthur Sale in the following link:

Like all contemporary Australian universities it is now a corporate structure utterly dependent on the international student market.

An aerial view of the University of East Anglia (UEA), Norwich, captured in the heart of autumn. Founded in 1963, the university is one of the UK’s pioneering purpose-built campus universities, laid out on former Earlham Hall estate land. Much of the core campus was designed by Sir Denys Lasdun, one of Britain’s leading modernist architects.
The most iconic structures in view are the Grade II* listed Ziggurats – the stepped student accommodation blocks officially named Norfolk Terrace and Suffolk Terrace – begun in 1964 and completed by 1974. Lasdun’s team included architects Peter Softley and John Weeks, with construction by Taylor Woodrow Construction Ltd. The design followed his principle of “streets in the sky”, combining Brutalist form with views across parkland.
Running north–south through the middle is the teaching spine, linking lecture theatres, laboratories, and administration buildings, including the Elizabeth Fry Building (opened 1994, by Sheppard Robson Architects) and the Julian Study Centre (2014).
To the north-west, beside the lake known as UEA Broad, stands the celebrated Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts – designed by Norman Foster and opened in 1978. The building houses the Sainsbury Collection and is one of Foster’s earliest major works. It was shortlisted for UNESCO World Heritage status in 2023.
Beyond the academic core, the curved residential blocks of Constable Terrace, Nelson Court, and Britannia House can be clearly seen, built mainly in the 1990s–2000s as student numbers grew. At the southern entrance lies the original Earlham Hall, a 17th-century manor house and now home to UEA’s Law School.
Surrounding the campus are large areas of green space: meadows, sports fields, and woodland that form part of UEA’s 360-acre campus. UEA Broad itself was artificially created in 1978 through gravel extraction and is now a valued wildlife habitat.
This view captures UEA’s unique blend of groundbreaking 1960s architecture, later academic expansion, and the parkland setting that defines the university’s character today.

The building was derelict for a decade and then converted into student apartments.
The actual door and the way the ground floor windows are used are, IMHO, unimaginative and sub-par. There are holes in the lintel for a light - so why not fix one? Especially when those steps are so worn.
My entry in this months competition ' Topography of where we live'
I am sure Beckley Point will be the first of many high rise buildings in Plymouth. It is now the tallest building in the South West and has changed the face of the skyline dramatically.
This particular viewpoint was taken from Central Park. I was not sure whether to keep the grass in the image or not.
In the end I decided to keep it in as it gave a better idea of where it was shot.
On first glance of arriving there I was intrigued with the fact that the area just above the grass actually looked like a lake with reflections hense I kept a a larger part of the city in the photo than I intended.
Thank you for viewing and any comments
Newly built Beckley Point taken from Central Park, Plymouth. This is the tallest building in the city.
The blurb says.....
PLYMOUTH STUDENT ACCOMMODATION
Beckley Point is our new state-of-the-art student residence in Plymouth, opened for the first time in September ’17. It’s slap-bang in the heart of the city – close to all the big shopping areas, near plenty of pubs and bars, and just a few hundred yards from the city’s big train station.
Just another issue in our increasingly dangerous world, falling cutlery, beware folks, luckily this canopy was there but who knows, whilst you're engrossed in your phone, another fork, a spoon or even a knife could be hurtling downwards

Rents are at full commercial rates, contributing to the big student loans that most students take out. Higher education is a big business.
A bold slice of contemporary student living in Newcastle upon Tyne, where geometric panels of grey, white, lime and violet break up the façade into a playful grid. Set against a soft, overcast sky, the building’s rhythm of colour and window lines turns everyday accommodation into an exercise in urban design.

Student apartments in the bungalows of the former women's olympic village dating back to the summer Olympics 1972 in Munich. Since the bungalows were renovated in 2007-2009, each student has been allowed to paint their bungalow when they move in, they receive the paint and some tools for free and can choose whatever subject they like (except for sexist, xenophobic, racist motifs etc of course).

This was the desk in room 4C1 in Dalton Tower at Gosta Green, Birmingham, which I occupied for part of the 1979-80 academic year. The other part was spent directly below in room 3C1, until I (and everyone else on the third floor) had to move up one level to allow for redecorating. Each floor had three wings (A, B & C) which together made a Y-shape in plan; each wing contained a self-catering flat with seven rooms, a kitchen and a bathroom. With twenty floors that makes 420 student rooms in total. Sadly this was all reduced to dust and rubble by controlled explosion on 8th May 2011; such is progress. Photograph made Thursday 5th June 1980.
A new development in Newcastle opposite St James Park. These 2 building are actually part of a student accommodation for Newcastle University.
I did get a few strange looks from passing Chinese students who seemed to think I was pointing my lens through their bedroom window. Which I wasn't - Obviously..
It was also hard to escape the giant crane that is still working over this site. This will be an excellent location in a few months for this kind of photography.
