SUNLAND - At 11:10PM on November 1, 2025 the Los Angeles City Fire Department responded to reports of a structure fire in the 10900 block of North Scoville Avenue in Sunland. 36 firefighters arrived to a one-story, single family dwelling with fire and smoke showing. An 87 year old man was found outside the home with critical burn injuries. Firefighter/paramedics provided immediate medical care and transported the patient to the hospital.

With reports of additional occupants possibly trapped inside, firefighters initiated an interior fire attack while conducting a primary search. Tragically, two adult males were found inside the home and determined dead on scene.

Four more adults, already outside the home on LAFD arrival, suffered varying degrees of smoke inhalation and were transported to the hospital. One patient declined medical transport, bringing the total patient count for the incident to eight.

On March 29th Santa Clara County Fire responded to a 2 alarm fire in Campbell. Some pallets were burning in a confined area in amongst a complex of offices, warehouses and former retail space. The fire's location was so "hidden", that the actual material that was burning could not be seen from outside any of the incident's four sides. First-arriving units saw the fire, though. Initial reports had the flames leaping to 40 feet and visible from the Hwy. 17 freeway.

Santa Clara County Rescue 3 illuminates the area. Rescue 3 is a 2007 KME. It has all the capabilities of a truck, except that it lacks an aerial ladder. It has a 1250gpm pump and a 500 gallon tank.

NORTH HILLS - On Saturday, December 12, 2020, LAFD firefighters were summoned to 259 North Vermont Avenue at 12:03 AM (the first incident of the new day) for a structure fire. Thirty-four LAFD firefighters extinguished fire in the attic, walls, and floor of a descending hillside home in 32 minutes. Companies inside protected belongings prior to applying water, while firefighters on the roof cut ventilation holes, but left the roofing in place until water was ready to be applied (then pulled the previously cut roofing to open the hole at the right time). The coordinated effort minimized damage from water, fire, and smoke. There were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
