🇬🇧 Every new journey begins by looking ahead. Sometimes, however, the most interesting photographs are taken by pointing the camera straight into the light.
For this image, I chose to embrace the setting sun rather than avoid it. The strong backlight, the burst of rays filtering through the trees, and the cascade of colourful lens flares weren’t imperfections to eliminate—they became part of the composition.
The car almost steps into the background, leaving the dialogue between light and form to take centre stage. Only part of the bodywork is revealed, enough to suggest its presence while letting the sun write the rest of the story. It reminds me that a photograph doesn’t always have to describe everything; sometimes it only needs to evoke.
This Audi A3 Allstreet is gradually becoming more than just a means of transport. Like every travelling companion, it is beginning to collect memories, destinations and moments. This sunset is simply one of the first.
And, for once, I didn’t mind the lens flare taking over the scene. Sometimes the light insists on signing the photograph alongside the photographer.
🇮🇹 Ogni nuovo viaggio comincia guardando avanti. A volte, però, le fotografie più interessanti nascono puntando l’obiettivo proprio contro la luce.
Per questo scatto ho deciso di assecondare il sole al tramonto invece di evitarlo. Il forte controluce, i raggi che filtrano tra gli alberi e la cascata di riflessi colorati generati dall’obiettivo non erano difetti da correggere, ma elementi da accogliere nella composizione.
L’auto quasi si ritrae, lasciando che il dialogo tra luce e forme diventi il vero protagonista. Se ne intravede solo una parte, quanto basta per suggerirne la presenza e lasciare che sia il sole a completare il racconto. Mi ricorda che una fotografia non deve necessariamente mostrare tutto: a volte è sufficiente evocare.
Questa Audi A3 Allstreet sta diventando, poco alla volta, qualcosa di più di un semplice mezzo di trasporto. Come ogni compagna di viaggio, comincia ad accumulare ricordi, destinazioni e momenti. Questo tramonto è semplicemente uno dei primi.
E, per una volta, non mi è dispiaciuto lasciare che il lens flare si prendesse parte della scena. Ogni tanto è la luce stessa che pretende di firmare la fotografia insieme al fotografo.

Today I saw this beautiful black Audi R8 V10 Plus again. Last year I had a photoshoot and even a ride in it, and I can tell you this car is incredibly fast and loud thanks to the Capristo exhausts!
Wow! Yesterday I saw a very exclusive Audi S1 Quattro, a classic rallycar, and today I saw this Audi R8 V10 Plus 2013. I Think it's the most stunning R8 I've ever seen!
The car is completely black and has carbon on every available place. It's also a bit lower, has custom sideskirts and, last but not least, a custom titanium exhaust to make the Lambo-V10 sound even better than before!

Today, some friends and I had the second photoshoot with this amazing Audi R8 V10 Plus "Black Diamond". This car has some awesome upgrades like a Capristo exhaust system and now it has a great Streetgasm 2000 wrap too! I'll upload more photos of this supercar soon, so stay tuned!

I saw this beautiful combo today, and in my opinion they're both beautiful. The beetle is really unique, the red colour looks fantastic and the upgrades are looking very good! The R8 is a brand new V10 model, and it's the first time I saw one of these. The colour looks really amazing and the sound is lovely! Which one do you prefer, if you don't look at the price?

Best seen in Large On Black
Near the centre of Ottawa at the junction where Lower Town and Upper Town meet is an area known as Confederation Square. This is a shot of the square all done up with Christmas Lights taken the night I was out with my nephew. The shot is taken from Upper Town looking towards Lower Town and the Byward Market (you can see the ground is sloping down - hence the name "Lower Town"). The National War Memorial and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier are in the mid-ground, centre-left, and the Chateau Laurier hotel is in the background centre-right. The Byward Market is just behind the Chateau Laurier.
Just to the right of the Chateau Laurier in this shot you can see a condominium building called 700 Sussex Drive. This site was the former home of the Daly Building. Built in 1905 it was Ottawa's only example of the Chicago-style of architecture. In 1921 it became office space for the Civil Service as the government moved into most of the buildings in the area. Despite protests from heritage groups, the building was demolished in 1978. You can read more about the destruction of the Daly Building here if you're interested:

The site sat empty for years and after much controversy it was used to build 700 Sussex Drive - which was a pity since the empty site afforded an amazing view of the Market area from Upper Town that was blocked when the new building went up. 700 Sussex Drive now houses many of the rich and political who reside in Ottawa. At one point Member of Parliament Belinda Stronic and her father had condos in the building, and it's rumoured that Ottawa mayor Larry O'Brien lives there. Not sure who else lives there now.
Canadians will probably recognize the War Memorial site from the annual Remembrance Day telecasts, but you probably haven't seen it done up for Christmas before.
