loosely translated to English from Ukranian:
The Dream passes by the window, And Sleep by the fence. The Dream asks Sleep: "Where should we rest tonight?"
Where the house is warm, Where the child is small, There we will go, And Rock the child to sleep.
There we will sleep, and will rock the child: Sleep, sleep, my dear, Sleep, sleep, my dove.
The song became famous in the English world when it served as an inspiration for George Gershwin to create the aria "Summertime". Gershwin wrote it after hearing "Oy Khodyt Son Kolo Vikon" at a 1926 concert of the Ukrainian National Chorus under Oleksander Koshetz, in New York City.

We ran into our neighbors on the sidewalk, but chatted only briefly, as we were turning left and they were turning right.
Pattern from Lotta Jansdotter's "Simple Sewing for Baby". I added boxed corners for extra room. Made with fabulous IKEA fabric!
Ravenswood Art Walk, Chicago. stopped in here to see a Flickr friend (chloeloe) with a booth of her photos/cards
Looks to be one of those Taylor Tots stroller/walkers. This was taken in the driveway of my Zia Lilly's house. Not sure who the baby is - the only notation is the "5 mo" at the bottom. (It's taken on the same roll as another photo that's definitely Robert, so this is him as well. That puts the date as January, 1947.)
Undated.

This stroller was sitting on a spot-lit, rotating platform, in the window of a store on State Street in Santa Barbara. I wonder if it comes with its own remote stroller alarm system and GPS navigation.
View large for a better look at her great facial expressions. Too bad the photos are blurry :-(
Kids run too fast for me ;-)
This is Anna, she's my little cousin. She's two, and full of energy. Here, she's playing with a stroller belonging to another family at the park. And having a great time :D
I met her for the first time that day. I hope I'll get to see her and her little family sometime soon ..
I really need someone to invent teletransportation soon.
This is a differently cropped print of Young Man on the Go, and this one is labeled: "10 mos. 25 lbs.". You can see more of the side porch off Grandma McCombs' kitchen here, including the flour-sack dish towel that was almost always hung out there to dry.
The stroller is more a convenience to overburdened parents than fatigued toddlers, although he will sit there happily munching away at our farmer's market bounty.
