This image was created from multiple exposures blended together in Photoshop CS6 layers using the "Lighten" blend mode. All exposures were taken with a single Paul C. Buff Einstein strobe with a 22" beauty dish attached to a Elinchrom boom arm and a 3-stop B&W ND filter attached to my lens. If you send me a FlickrMail message, I'll be more than happy to send you some information on mostly how I photograph this style and what equipment I use, along with some YouTube video links that help explain this process.

These are known to be highly volatile and tend to "evaporate" quickly after the container is opened.

Inspired by watching a Gavin Hoey tutorial on "Splash Flash" photography I experimented with a variety of setups and this is the best of them. What a mess to clean up!

A great advantage of the studio is the complete control of the light.

Walking from St Pancras to the Tube station, I happened to walk past this connecting tunnel from Kings Cross. Thinking it would make a cool photo, I doubled back through the herds of commuters.
A leftover image from Orchidmania 2008. Red Cymbidium hybrid in the lobby near a black cabinet. Strobed. (Data doesn't say the flash fired; maybe I didn't strobe it.)
Taken during a light painting session the other night at my place.
There is this tennis court where I live and it has a tall and long wall on one of the sides.
I thought it was quite a nice place to do some light painting.
I especially wanted to experiment with triggering a flash on the wall to create a nice black silouhette.
And then I added some light beam with a LED flashlight.
A stroboscope. It uses the same basic xenon flashtube technology as flashes, large and small, for photography, except that it's designed to flash at an adjustable rate to freeze motion, such as shown in this clip I recorded over seven years earlier.
The unaltered photo was originally going to be used as a recent Macro Mondays submission, but I decided against for fear it might not conform to the theme.
Shot @ home. Strobe set up is below.
Strobe set up :
Vivitar 285HV full power from top. Two reflectors on both the side of glass table.
Used black cloth as a backdrop. Triggered using Cactus wireless flash remote.

Thanks to my Dad, he helped me a lot in throwing lemons in to the glass :) lol
Also thanks to Karthik for sharing the light diagram :)
PS : Only at the end of the shoot i noticed that the edges of glass holders were broken :) In case if you are trying this, be careful while throwing the lemons bcoz the glass pieces may hit you.
Me and Lars went to a place in umeå called Gammlia to take som night photos. ended up playing with strobes. :)
Took this using the Fuji 80mm macros, so I could compress the perspective and bring the Godox MF-12 flash head into the picture along with the dying flower
Strobist info: One Sigma ef-500 super dg placed on the table triggered using a cactus v2 radio trigger
Got some new-to-me glass, pretty damn worth it.
