I had my Covid booster vaccine and flu vaccine today. In Scotland the booster is given strictly no earlier than 6 months from the last dose and they give the flu vaccine at the same appointment and no sooner. Three weeks until peak immunity and it's all downhill from there again. Enjoy the image!

Funny how things turn out sometimes. I meant to take the photo only with the guy smoking and then the pigeon took off and he lowered the cigarette when I pressed the shutter.

Captured in August 2024, this was my very first piece of candid street photography after a couple of years of absence for health reasons and, at the time, I was in homeless hostel accommodation too. I remember so many vivid hopes and dreams of recovering and rebuilding my life but had no idea that the Long COVID that I had, would deteriorate further and deeper just a few months later.
I was impacted by many limitations back then. Now there are more of them and their impact is greater.
I'm working through my backlog of photos, slowly but surely, though mental effort causes physical fatigue and necessary recovery times now. Patience is a word that I have had to learn.
Thank you all so much for your patience waiting for more contemporary photos. I am grateful to you all and your support has meant the world to me.

Mask up - stop the spread. Preventing or limiting spread of an airborne virus is not rocket science. Cover your mouth and nose with a suitable mask in enclosed public spaces.
While this should have been the case already in the UK, during this period of accepting 1000 deaths per week, it is most definitely the case now with the unknown risk that the Omicron variant presents.
Better to over-react protectively and relax later than to become overwhelmed by not reacting enough. Stay safe everyone. This is not just about life and death, this is also about long-term debilitating disease, the burden of which will be enormous before this is all through.
In a rainy day, the strong message by Jaume Plensa, with his Secret Garden - four iron statues about 8 meters high - is a surprise in the central Residenzplatz.
