Even in summer, the sky isn't always what you'd like it to be.

Captured shortly before my previous post, and before the sun had crested the hill whilst there was still some colour in the sky.

Bale of straw on harvested field

(Sorry for that title, Procul Harum) ;-)

Strohballen auf abgeernteten Feldern am Westberg

Actually I like the round straw bales much more than this one here. But as I recently saw this Lego for farmers close to my house, I could'nt resist. One benefit of this version is, that I could try another perspective, with a better oberview. Foresight never hurt anyone.

Straw bale on harvested field

traveling back from Scotland yesterday was such a treat for seeing literally hundreds of fields in harvest mode and add to this perfect sunshine and a bit of cloud and late summer can't get any better than this :)

One of these days, or years, I am going to get to photograph this location in perfect conditions. Near Tibbermore in Perthshire, Scotland.

Today is a wonderful day and I'm very happy because the weather was really nice and I'm on Explore with my flowerpicture I uploaded yesterday :-)

So I decided to upload a few more pictures I made last week. Now the harvest time is already in full swing and now you can find straw bales on every field so I thought I should take some nice pictures of them :-)

Thanks for every fav and comment :-)

I'll do my best to get a lots of fav's and comments back :-)

Ein weiter Blick über das Feld auf die Ortschaft Hittbergen mit der dominanten Windmühle / A wide view over the fields at the village of Hittbergen with the characteristic windmill

It’s that time of year when otherwise flat boring fields are transformed with the addition of straw bales to provide that element of added interest.

I was fortunate to get out the other morning for sunrise, which coincided with some great light and some mist. It certainly felt that Autumn (fall) is nearly here.

Stunning, stormy, late afternoon light over the harvested fields of Strathearn in Perthshire, Scotland.

A quick dash out a few evenings ago as I saw the potential in the sky, knowing that the straw bales were in the fields, which were then collected the very next day.

The sun had just gone down behind some clouds on the horizon to the right and the sky lit up.

So, if you see an opportunity for a photo, take it; it might not be there later.

Light sea mist was rising and revlealed the sun setting over the Irish Sea.

Instead of Stonehenge....

The fields are full with strawbales after the harvest these days.

Coming back from a walk, late afternoon, we came to this field as the farm machinery was just leaving and the dust was still in the air.
