Taken whilst waiting for m+b to finish work. Slightly self-conscious using the XA2's timer function (with it's loud BEEEEEEEEP) in such a financial area, but other than a few odd looks, didn't get any security hassles)

OVO

Boulevard of Light - Amsterdam Light Festival

Artists: ACT lighting design: Koert Vermeulen (lighting design), Marco Viñals Bassols (set design)

Odeaubois: Pol Marchandise & Mostafa Hadi (construction)

Location: pontoon in the Amstel in front of the Hermitage

OVO is a seven meter high construction shaped like an egg. Through the interplay of light (in 22 minutes, 724 dfferent light positions are demonstrated), sound and water (reflections in the water and fog that dances in the wind), it all feels like a supernatural experience. The spectator becomes part of the artwork, when he enters the gracious, majestic structure, OVO symbolizes birth, transformation and perfection.

Odeaubois: Pol Marchandise & Mostafa Hadi (Beeldhouwers)

I decided to model a sweatshirt I received as a Christmas present, mainly because I think it's a neat sweatshirt. Well, we had gone through a few rolls of film when I decided it was time for a smoke and coffee break. Little did I know that the bastard photographer would take a pot-shot of me while I was chillin'. Those photographers think they're so damn funny when they do crap like that.

The foundation stone was laid on 28 April 1220.[5] Due to the high water table in the new location, the cathedral was built on only four feet of foundations, and by 1258 the nave, transepts and choir were complete. The west front was ready by 1265. The cloisters and chapter house were completed around 1280. Because the cathedral was built in only 38 years, Salisbury Cathedral has a single consistent architectural style, Early English Gothic.

(Bron: Wikipedia)

I was tagged.

If you read this, you're awesome.

1a. I like to know and completely understand everything. Like, literally everything. I always ask questions and I enjoy learning new things. I tend to ask everyone "why" and alot of people don't like it, but I just want to understand why. I like knowing what goes on in people's heads, and random little things, and everything. I will honestly get upset if I don't understand something. Also, I tend to over-explain myself. I assume that everyone likes to understand as much as I do, and I'll discuss my opinions or thoughts on something forever.

1b. I know a lot of people say this, but I truly mean it when I say I over-analyze everything. People always tell me to relax and stop over-thinking every little detail of everything said, or done, or every movie, or just literally everything in life. I guess that connects to wanting to know everything, but also to my OCD.

2. I'm probably one of the least judgemental people you'll ever meet. I hear the things people have to say about others and I just don't understand the point of it. Like, there's no reason that you need to open your mouth about other people. Seriously, I may not like everyone, but what they do still isn't my problem. Everybody is their own person and if they want to say or do something a certain way then, let them. It's their life not yours. On the other hand, I'm a critic, but not towards people. I'm always criticizing movies, the ways of the world, etc.

3. Listening to happy music makes me think I'm happy. In that moment, I feel carefree and like I actually want to have fun and just live, but when the music disappears, so do those feelings. It's sad. I wish I could feel like that all the time.

4. On the subject of music, I love listening to old songs. They always remind me of certain time periods in my life and it's interesting to let the songs bring me back there. I always connect songs to people and things.

5. I've had OCD all my life, and it's hell. It controls so many aspects of my life. From the way I think, to my room, to how I sleep, to everything else. I take medication for it now, but it will never really go away. My baby brother has OCD and I feel so bad for him, I don't want to see him struggle through it like I did.

6. I'm straightup about everything. I'll tell you what I honestly think, and I say whatever I feel like saying. I'm not shy at all and tend to say these things to almost anyone. Sometimes I offend people when I don't mean to, but that's just how I am. It's nothing personal.

7. My two bestfriends show the two sides of me. Me and Saige clicked from the very beginning because we can always relate, to this day. She is the deep, intellectual, analytical, calm side of me. We can have conversations for hours about anything, and it usually ends up being very philosophical. Aleaya is the hyper, loud, crazy, fun side of me. I've known her forever and she's like my sister. They're the perfect balance for me.

8. It is HARD to become my friend. I'm not a very friendly person, and I don't like people easily at all. But, if you are my friend, that means I truly do like you as a person and I doubt you'll ever lose me. I'm a misanthrope, which means someone with " generalized dislike, distrust, disgust, contempt or hatred of the human species, human nature, or society." Gino taught me that word.

9. When I'm around my friends that I do like, I act a bit out of control sometimes. I get very hyper and do weird, crazy things. I'm alot calmer than I used to be though. I used to literally just go crazy all the time. I've lost a lot of myself.

10. I am so interested in what other people think of me. Not because I care, but because it intrigues me to find out what I seem like through other people's eyes.

11. I love psychology and the way the brain works. I've always studied things on psychology like mental illnesses and such. I love learning about the human mind and the power it has to change someone's life completely. I love analyzing the way people think and how their brain works. I don't want to be a therapist, because I don't want to fix people's problems. I want to go into some type of field that deals with studying the different aspects of the mind. Haven't quite figured that out yet.

12. I LOVE to sleep, more than most people. I literally will choose sleeping over almost anything. I just enjoy it so much, it makes me feel great. And besides, it gets me out of stupid reality.

13. I never make it to school or do my homework. I always end up just sleeping in and not feeling like going. And I can never bring myself to do my homework. They're horrible habits that I've had for years and I hate myself for them. I'm really smart and usually pass anyways, but it's hard in classes that homework counts for alot in. I need to get my shit together :/

14. So often I think "what's the point". Because seriously, what is the point of anything? All we are is little ants in this world. We go to parties, get jobs, do this, that, whatever, all for what? Nothing. We all live just to die. Life is meaningless in my eyes.
