Sadly due to my not speaking Ukrainian, much of the history of this place is lost to me... but details aside, at one point this site was home to a number of people capable of pushing "the button" and sending a little bit of the western world to oblivion. The bunker was designed of course to withstand any strike/retaliation and to keep its occupants safe for extended periods underground.

Good luck :-)) ;-) :-) :-D

I tried to see the World from the same angle as my small dachshund Buster. Here are we in the forest where he is waiting for daddy to come and join us.

It was a great experience to be there on the track down on my stomic, seing the grass and flowers taller than me as my dog does all the time.

This fascinating place which truly seemed to be hundreds of miles from anywhere was once one of the key nuclear launch sites of the Soviet Union and well into Ukraine's independence as well. Sadly the language barrier limits what I learned in the place, although as you will see the site although displaying very little on the surface has a very impressive underground bunker designed to keep its occupants safe and able to retaliate in the event of nuclear war. Thank God this place never saw action!

This section was, if I'm not mistaken, the air conditioning and utility plant for the bunker below.

Casio G-Shock DW-M5610 "Tough Solar Atomic Time" wristwatch.

Today we switched back to Standard Time from Daylight Saving Time here in most of the US, and I didn't have to reset my digital watch!

I purchased this "stomic time" watch after the frustration of fussing around with my other digital watches following the switch to Daylight Time earlier this year. And it was worth it!

The Casio Tough Solar Atomic DW-M5610 wristwatch automatically synchronizes each day with the "atomic time" signal broadcast by radio from the US Bureau of Weights and Measures atomic clock in Fort Collins, Colorado, so it is always accurate, and it automatically corrects for Daylight Saving Time.

Each time the switch from Daylight to Standard Time rolled around, I had to find the instruction booklet or look up the directions online on how to set my digital wristwatches. Once I found the instructions, I had to try to manually set the time as closely as possible to the time displayed on my computer or iPad.

But not anymore! The G-Shock Tough Solar Atomic does all this automatically, and every day! The little "RCVD" symbol in the top right corner of the screen, which stands for "RECEIVED," is refreshed each day between midnight and 2am when the watch synchronizes itself to the radio time signal broadcast from the atomic timekeeping system in Fort Collins.

And "solar" means no more unexpected battery failures. While the solar watch contains a battery, it is a rechargeable battery with an estimated lifespan of 15 to 20 years. Sad as it is to think about, the watch might outlive me. It recharges on a minimal amount of light. When not exposed to light for an extended period, the watch goes in to "Power Saver" mode and can remain dormant but functioning for between six months and a year in total darkness.

Being a G-Shock, the watch is built to withstand abuse, and for the seven or so months I've owned it, it has seen some abuse. This is the watch I wear when working on outdoor projects like crawling under the house or digging waterline trenches. It's a watch I absolutely never need to worry about damaging.

For about ninety dollars, I am extremely pleased with this wristwatch; most of all because of the frustration it saves my by automatically correcting for Daylight Saving Time.

And after it calibrates itself "atomically" for Daylight or Standard Time, I can use the display to easily reset my analog watches (the ones with hands).

Smoke through a keyhole

I do believe in love

as it blows through the sails

what is the colour of this wind

as I float through the dreams

I've chased the tides to be at your side

as my tears are a sea of hope

but I will not drown to feelings

whatever floats your boat

you have to say

you have to say...

she moves like smoke through a keyhole

sometime soon this will all be too late

i've got to open up the doorway

to listen to what she don't say

it's not a thought it's a whisper

it's not luck if it's fate

you are like an unlit candle

beauty in a dormant state

you have to say

you have to say...
