Morning sunrise and very high water on foggy Cottage Lake after a few days of heavy rain.

Sometimes you just have to stop and look at the beauty around you. Off in the distance is my daughter, on the beach at Point Pelee National Park. This dawn sky was so amazing, that time just seemed to stand still for one to take in this sight.
I have gone past this old house on the Molson Chesaw Road many times in my Washington State adventures, but it never really stood out to me. Normally, this area of the Okanogan Highlands is very dry and brown. A few days ago, I once again was in the area and the old house looked different, maybe it was the angry clouds or the tall green grass that drew me in to stopping. I parked and walked up and down the road as I took a few shots from different angles. I settled on this shot as I think it conveys more of the mood I was looking for.

STILLNESS
A deep, abyssal silence followed the furious snowstorm that had struck down the river valley, the surrounding forest and our modest creaking cabin.
This sudden and strange silence calmed my mind, as if it had been under the influence of a Magician, an Enchantress. An absolute tranquility that imposed on me a moment of contemplation, improbable otherwise. In me, a feeling imposed itself more and more clearly: that of this unspeakable bond which unites us, us the living beings, with our planet, with our origins, with the Universe…
…in deep silence.

“Seek out a tree and let it teach you stillness.”

Wisdom comes with the ability to be still. Just look and just listen. No more is needed. Being still, looking, and listening activates the non-conceptual intelligence within you. Let stillness direct your words and actions.

Most part of Niagara Falls' ice melted compared to last Sunday. The tree was not covered with ice anymore. Still freezing cold in the early morning, tried to capture the last white Niagara falls photos in the early morning ...
Freezing cold, my fingers hurts... Guess which finger hurts the most ? ;))
Enjoy your peaceful weekend my dear friends!

The other day heading out for a walk/ride after work I came across a persons garden still lush with Roses. It was a very windy day and not much sun. Sun came out for a few seconds. Enough to shed a little light on this pale pink beauty. Hard shot to capture with the strong winds but managed a few.
This is a secret box with a hidden compartment. It had been in my shed for many years until we moved house and now resides in my garage hence the dust and grime which I like..... Along with the old rug and fir cone. It still stores some old hidden coins
While it seems to me that it is getting cooler and the days shorter, it is summer as usual here. The beach is still busy.
