Continuing on, the train rolls through the fertile lower Ottawa valley on approach to the highway 148 crossing near Pointe-au-Chêne. A recently-opened segment of highway 50 - connecting two previously isolated segments in Mirabel and Gatineau - marks the hillside in the background.

The Quebec Gatineau train for Thurso is passing the boarded-up Calumet Station. It has a pair of geeps (QGRY 2009 and 2502) and 14 cars. Thanks to Ken Goslett for driving and choosing the spots, as this is my first time shooting this scenic line.
