Shot this with my iphone because I didnt wanna change lenses. This is from the Trembling Earth nature trail at Stephen Foster State Park, in the Okefenokee Swamp.

The swamp is in a giant peat bog, which makes the fresh water a dark tea like color. The dark perfectly still water acted like a perfect mirror.

The swamp was full of alligators. At times we would see 4 at a time. They usually were perfectly still with their eyes and snout sticking above the water. As we approached, they slowly sank away without a ripple. Sometimes we would see bubbles coming towards us. The water was so dark and reflective, they could be inches below the water and we wouldn't see them.

I stopped for the night at the state park and was enraptured by the Stephen Foster music playing from the carrilon.

This was definitely the nicest Canoeing I've ever done. A beautiful place. Certain times of the year, you can take multi-day canoe trips, camping on specially built platforms in the swamp.

Photographing this inch-long green treefrog at night at such close range proved quite difficult. Fortunately, he/she was extremely accomodating. Deer are noticeably smaller down south.

These deer obvioulsy cared more about delicious grass than about humans in cars a few feet away.

I was never able to find a species match for this tiny, lovely flower, but it's design closely resembles a Tibetan mandala.
