A CRH2C high speed train (和谐号) caught leaving Shanghai Railway Station (上海站). Taken from the Hengfeng Road Overpass (恒丰路立交桥) in the east of the station.
This is CRH2C trainset 2076.
The CRH2C is capable of a sustained top speed of 350 km/h, tested speed is 394.2 km/h. Critical instability speed is 550 km/h.
The original CRH2 was based on the Kawasaki Heavy Industries Shinkansen E2-1000 series. The CRH2C is an improvement óf the original design by CRRC Qingdao Sifang (中车青岛四方机车车辆股份有限公司).

This weeks Video documents my return trip from Nelson to Picton Starting on Boxing Day one of the 1st stop was Rainbow Station. Located on the East side of the main divide "The Rainbow" occupies a long valley which heads towards Hanmer. The Antwerp Central Station, also known as Middenstatie (Middle station) or Spoorwegkathedraal (Railroad Cathedral), was first used in 1905. The structure is made up from a steel platform covering and a stone station building in an eclectic style. Recently, the station was completely renovated and in 2007 a tunnel underneath the station and a part of Antwerp was opened, reverting the station’s status as a terminus where are all trains have to turn back. In 2009, the American magazine Newsweek chose the Antwerp Central Station as the fourth most beautiful train station in the world.
The CHURCHGATE RAILWAY STATION is one of the busiest stations in the city. Train run every minute with clockwork precision. Millions of city dwellers residing in the suburbs alight at this station to get to their offices in the business districts of south Mumbai. An average of 7.5 millions passengers travel per day in the city .. Churchgate is the 5th busiest station in Mumbai.
The pumping station Zeldert is a former steam pumping station in the Eem Valley. The pumping station is located on the municipal border of Baarn with Amersfoort. It was built as a steam pumping station in 1896, after it was washed away at a dyke breach. In 1926 the steam pumping station was replaced by an electric pumping station.

Maankwartier Heerlen
Maankwartier is een prachtig ontwerp van kunstenaar Michel Huisman. Het is een mooi, nieuw stukje Heerlen. Met een station, winkels, cafés, een hotel, kantoren en woningen. Ook is het de nieuwe verbinding tussen het noordelijk en zuidelijk deel van de stad. Het wordt voor heel veel mensen dè manier om van het ene stadsdeel naar het andere te gaan. Tel daarbij op de vele bezoekers die dagelijks op weg zijn naar werk, wonen, winkelen of ander vertier in de stad en Heerlen heeft een plek om trots op te zijn!

The station and all around it, including the building work in progress is new or recent.
Angel Road station was closed in 2014 and moved 600 meters south and called Meridian Water.
I think someone should inspect the inspection stations. If you fell through that cracked window, you could break a leg, put your eye out or get pneumonia. At least those were the three things my mother always worried about. “Don’t walk on the edge of the curb. You could break a leg. Put on a sweater. You will get pneumonia.” I was always waiting for her to say, “Put down the pencil (so I didn’t have to do homework). You could put your eye out.” But it was only the fun things that got the admonishments.
I don’t like to be critical, but the red, white and blue valances in the window are now orange, gray and blue. I think after 25 years it is time for a little redecorating. I do like the big modern Coke machine with the selection of plastic bottles. It is not as good as the frosty glass bottles, but at least it will wet your whistle!
At Niles Station before heading back to Brightside to move the loco to the front and for photos.
On the way back to the maintenance yard near Sunol, they announced that there was room for 5 or 6 people in the cab if anybody wanted to. Guess who was the first one there.
