Contours of static pressure in a Mach 3 compression ramp. The sharp changes in pressure are shock waves, and the lambda shaped shock structure near the corner is due to boundary layer separation in the corner.
These shots are taken in a chilly forest, with lovely trees. My hair always has so much static, especially in the cold.
