Startup Weekend Des Moines is a community building startup event. Participants get together with local developers, marketers, designers, enthusiasts and start companies in just 54 hours.
The participants that attend a Startup Weekend decide what they want to tackle over the weekend and come out at the end with several developed companies or projects. Attendees are responsible for bringing the same desire and passion to the project and walk out of the room with the task at hand, in a short 54 hours. Sound intense? It is.
This year Spindustry Strategy hosted the event at their offices. Many thanks to Spindustry Strategy for providing space for the weekend and all the hard work by Shane Reiser for organizing the event.

In occasione dell’evento Startup Europe week, parte del programma promosso dalla Commissione Europea con il patrocinio dell’Assessorato all’Internazionalizzazione, Startup e Innovazione, della Regione Campania, l’incubatore di Città della Scienza ha organizzato una giornata informativa sulla promozione della costituzione d’impresa in forma cooperativa e della sharing economy. I lavori sono stati introdotti da Mariangela Contursi (responsabile del Bic) e Luca Simeone (progect manager del Bic). Sono intervenuti il Dott. Rosario Florio Direttore generale di Lega Coop Campania, la Dott.ssa Manuela Marani Segretario dell’associazione L’altra Napoli Onlus, per concludere con la testimonianza della Italcables. A seguire le imprese dell’incubatore di Città della Scienza si sono presentate a potenziali clienti, investitori e stakeholder. Hanno preso parte all’evento alcuni giovani soci dell’associazione Aiesec, ed un gruppo di ragazzi del CLab.
Ricordiamo che per tutta la settimana sono ancora disponibili postazioni di lavoro gratuito al coworking dell’incubatore di Città della Scienza previa prenotazione obbligatoria.

We headed to the Big Apple for a Tech Cocktail mixer & startup showcase. At New York City’s Center for Social Innovation, the latest and greatest batch of startups innovating out of New York had an opportunity to hop on stage and pitch their ideas before an excited and energetic crowd.
Startups that showcased: Circumrent, CommonKey, LookBooker, LumiFi, picsell, Rockerbox, SketchFactor, SocialRank.
Congrats to Circumrent for winning the Tech Cocktail's Reader Choice AND the Best Pitch! We look forward to hopefully seeing you at Tech Cocktail's biggest event in the fall, Celebrate!
