I loved this challenge by Lizzie to use wood for the #stampafaire2017 5th challenge! This also gave me a chance to try Copic markers which I don't own, but my crafty friend who I visited for SAF has a whole bunch.
Used the Hexagon cover plate for this, and I'm not happy that when I ran it backwards through the Big Shot it shifted a smidgen and several of the hexagons are a fraction too small for the frame. But while you an see it here on a couple, it's not noticeable on the card, whew! Next time I'll only run it through once. I wanted the pattern of colored hexagons to kind of look like a bit of fencing behind the vine.
Used the Branching Out die in Simply Chartreuse, with a sentiment from Banner Sentiments popped up on Rustic White cardstock. This was perfect for my brother and SIL for their 20th anniversary. Thanks for looking!
First challenge for #stampafaire2017! What great inspiration photos! I love all of them -- but the floral background by Vikki Chu felt doable in 10 minutes.
I pulled out the fabulous Be set for the flowers and started stamping a pattern with Pale Peony, Summer Sunrise, Aqua Mist, and Tropical Teal, and used SSS Green Leaf for the leaves, all on stamper's select white.
I wanted to do a silver thread nest, and my crafty friend came up with this genius hack -- the Circle Scribbles dies with silver glitter cardstock. It has a much more substantial feel than the light thread and I love it here! Sentiment is from Wet Paint, embossed on a piece of MFT Steel Gray. It's all layered on Aqua Mist card base.
I loved having a 10 minute deadline. It felt very freeing not to continually think about which flowers were adjacent to each other. I just stamped down the cardstock without thinking too much about it. This cheery card makes me smile. I have to think of someone special to send it to. Thanks for looking!
1st #stampafaire2017 challenge is paper by Laura Bassen. This was a big stretch for me because I just do not sew on cards. I used the Butterfly Hope cover plate on this one. I watercolored a panel with some Distress Inks. The inset of the butterflies are Raspberry Fizz scraps sprayed with Wink of Stella for a little more sparkle. I carefully cut the vellum butterfly out of the whole cover plate and punched a couple holes and hand-sewed it to the project.
Double-edged banner in Raspberry Fizz with KIS: Birthday III in Smokey Shadow popped up. All layered on a Raspberry Fizz base.
I couldn't figure out why I was so blah about this until I realized it needed a little bling. The three rhinestones really help here. And now I can send it away to my niece who will soon be 12.

I love this faux metal look that Yana Smakula showed in the 6th annivesary - metal challenge for #stampafaire2017! I was inspired by another of the Take Ten inspiration pictures and used Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise, Mint Julep, Ocean Tides, Stormy Sea, and SSS's Fog ink with the Mini Blooms set, on stamper's select white cardstock.
I embossed the Hello from Wet Paint three times in silver. It's stuck in there with a piece of double-sided adhesive sheet on the back, which helped a lot to keep all the fiddly bits in place.
I love how this came out! Thanks for looking!
I haven't used felt on a card in what feels like forever, which is why I was so thrilled to see Heather's 7th anniversary - wool challenge for #stampafaire2017.
Used the classic Beautiful Blooms II flowers in Melon Berry, Vintage Cream, Harvest Gold and Ocean Tides. I hand-stitched the centers which was a real challenge for me since I don't sew on cards at all. The vase is two layers -- I made a stencil of one of the Mega Vases dies and sponged Aqua Mist behind it. Then I cut another vase out of vellum and layered it on top to look like there's water in the vase. Sentiment from Swoosh in Stormy Sea which goes perfectly with the flower and water in the vase. I love how the swooshes ground the vase, and almost looks like a shelf. Stampers select white is layered on a kraft base.
The sewing took forever so I want to send this to someone very special who will appreciate all this work. Thanks for looking!
