Czarnków is a town on the Noteć River, with a population of around 12,000. residents.
The first mentions of Czarnków come from the 12th century (chronicle of Gallus Anonymus), but it is probably a mistake or perhaps a forgery. The heart of the whole city was the Market Square. Wooden buildings were gradually replaced with brick buildings. The present urban layout of the city is historic and dates back to the Middle Ages. The buildings of the market square with the Town Hall date back to the 19th and 20th centuries, and the southern frontage is the Church of St. Mary Magdalene from the 16th century (visible in the photo). In the foreground, there is a sculpture of a historical figure, the medieval chronicler Jan of Czarnków.

Czarnków jest miastem nad rzeką Noteć, które liczy około 12 tys. mieszkańców.
Pierwsze wzmianki o Czarnkowie pochodzą z XII wieku (kronika Galla Anonima), ale jest to prawdopodobnie pomyłka lub być może fałszerstwo. Sercem całego miasta był Rynek. Drewniana zabudowa była stopniowo zastępowana budynkami murowanymi. Obecny układ urbanistyczny miasta jest zabytkowym i wywodzi się ze średniowiecza. Zabudowa rynku wraz z Ratuszem wywodzi się z XIX i XX wieku a południową pierzeję stanowi Kościół pw. Św. Marii Magdaleny z XVI wieku (widoczny na zdjęciu). Na pierwszym planie rzeźba historycznej postaci, średniowiecznego kronikarza Jana z Czarnkowa.

Krzywiń is a small town in the province Greater Poland, with approximately 1,700 inhabitants. It was a private clergy town belonging to the Benedictine abbot in Lubin. The first preserved mention of Krzywiń as a town comes from 1272. In 1382, the city was destroyed during domestic fights, the reconstruction took place half a century later. In 1447, the location privilege was renewed. The center of the development was a Market Square with a town hall (the present one comes from 1905) in the south-eastern frontage. In the middle of the Market Square there is a statue of St. Wawrzyniec street and the frontages are built with houses from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
The market was revitalized in 2014 and is a major tourist attraction.

Krzywiń jest małym miastem w woj. wielkopolskim, liczącym około 1700 mieszkańców. Było prywatnym miastem duchownym, należącym do opata benedyktynów w Lubiniu. Pierwsza zachowana wzmianka o Krzywiniu jako mieście pochodzi z 1272 roku. W 1382 roku miasto zostało zniszczone podczas walk domowych, odbudowa nastąpiła pół wieku później. W 1447 miało miejsce odnowienie przywileju lokacyjnego. Ośrodkiem zabudowy był czworoboczny rynek z ratuszem ( obecny pochodzi z 1905 roku) w pierzei południowo-wschodniej. Na środku Rynku znajduje się figura św. Wawrzyńca a pierzeje zabudowane są domami z przełomu XIX i XX wieku.
Rynek był rewitalizowany w roku 2014 i jest dużą atrakcją turystyczną.

The Lenbachhaus in Munich contains an art museum and is part of Munich's "Kunstareal" (the "art area").
The city of Munich acquired the building in 1924 and opened a museum there in 1929. The Lenbachhaus was expanded between 1927 and 1929 by Hans Grässel and again between 1969 and 1972 by Heinrich Volbehr and Rudolf Thönessen. The latest wing was closed to the public in 2009 to allow the expansion and restoration of the Lenbachhaus by Norman Foster; the 1972 extension was demolished to make way for the new building. The museum reopened in May 2013. The architect placed the new main entrance on Museumsplatz in front of the Propylaea. The new facade, clad in metal tubes made of an alloy of copper and aluminum, will weather with time.

Macro Monday's and the theme of "Green Yellow Squares".
While searching for a subject I located these chews in our local supermarket. I thought there might be Yellow sweets inside but that was one colour absent in both packs that I bought so I decided to use a Yellow background Instead.
Two sweets together looked cubical shaped so I decided to use this with a third standing next to them. They are still in their wrappers due to the sweet itself looking only a relatively faint colour compared to the rest of the flavours.
I'm a little bit concerned that with all the cubes I'm seeing this week along with the Greens we could end up being assimilated.

I wasn't sure about posting the shots I took here. Firstly, it has been done so many times and much better by so many others. Secondly, the wind was so strong on the morning I visited, there was a lot of movement in the foliage giving a blurry effect in the autumnal shades at the top of the frame.
In the end, I decided to post a couple as I was unlikely to ever get there again! So here is a square of the distinctive Beech Trees at Upper Moor, contrasting starkly with the columnar straightness of the opposing stands of Pine trees.

Macro Monday - Sweet spot squared
This was interesting as I quite often use f16 when I want everything in focus but went for f9 in the end for this shot as I felt the point of focus was slightly sharper (if I understand correctly, that was the point of this theme) I felt a bit like I was at the opticians...is it sharper or just closer...I'm never sure there either! ;)
I am slowly catching up after my weekend away. I am going away again in a few days so may not be on Flickr much for the next week, I will try to comment when I can but actually have a very busy few weeks ahead. HMM
