What luck that the days are gone when even cockroaches could be spies in unusual disguises.
But then, how different is it really today?
To this day I still have dreams of rooms like this. Always looking for a lighted, lockable, clean cabin with a clean toilet.
What a waste of precious dream time!
Few moments are more life-confirming than watching the sunset!

Have you ever come face to face with a small jumping spider? I have never been so close up to this moment. This was still on my bucket list. Saw it on my shed, but when I came back with the camera it was gone. But later I luckily saw her again. This photo tastes like more! To be continued...

Quite a bit of snow!
I wore my good boots. They were fine for the main "trails", but as soon as I got off trail, the snow was just too deep! I think we got 14 inches Wed/ Thurs.
Maybe time to bring out my snow shoes? 😂
By the way, the snow takes on these interesting colors right before sunset. Always fascinated me.

Charlie hid behind a wooden planter and watched me watering the plants on my roof terrace. Tofu usually runs a mile whenever water is involved but Charlie finds it super interesting and doesn't even mind getting wet.

Anyway I already faved most of my contacts by phone, as I was out whole day and was not thought to post a picture...
Happy Caturday wants to see our cats spying on us and Rena is already a great little spy. She loves spying on Benni, on us when she hides under things and we all say, "where's Rena" and there she is watching us.
Kerri, my Caturday daughter who has been here for a month to help us while my two broken bones mend, is on her way to the airport right now for a cross country flight from California to the east coast. She wants her Caturday friends to know she'll be back next week with her own cats.

An Arctic fox eyes me off just outside of its den area on Kolyuchin Island in the Russian Arctic. Being the summer months, the fox has a dark coat which then changes to an all white coat during the winter. A true survivor, I watched this one fighting mosquitoes off its face while it was keeping a close eye on me.
This spy troll was in a shootout with his opposite number. only inflicted a hat wound, thankfully.

Mack, who spent his whole life slightly overweight, is now starting to lose weight and Pippi is the sort of cat who wakes up and first thing she does is go to her food plate. It's automatic and she has gained too much weight since living with us.
Lately, Mack has been sleeping on a heated mat in a different room so I have tried hiding a plate of food for him right next to where he is sleeping. Hopefully Pippi won't discover this food source. Mack just barely woke up - as you can see one eye is still closed - but he just went back to sleep without eating.
Why is it that if you have two cats one needs to gain weight and the other needs to lose weight???

Sethi was out in the garden to check the state of the catnip plant. It still looks pretty disappointing but makes an excellent spot to hide and spy on the neighbours. :) Happy Caturday !

I knew the Orcas spy hopped but I didn't realize the Humpbacks did this as well. I have to tell you it was like a building was coming out of the water. I pulled my lens in to 120mm to fit it in the frame...definitely the high point of the day! Humpback whales grow to be about 52 feet (16 m) long, weighing 30-50 tons (27-45 tonnes). The females are slightly larger than males, as with all baleen whales. The four-chambered heart of the average humpback whale weighs about 430 pounds (195 kg) - about as much as three average adult human beings.
