- An unexpected position in an unexpected environment... It is marvelous to be with these creatures, Walking With Delight, AZ. -

Twee jonge musjes van bijna 1 jaar oud, druk bezig met het schoonmaken van hun verenkleed. Foto gemaakt in de achtertuin. Even groot bekijken - door op de 'L' toets te drukken.

Two young sparrows almost one year old, busy cleaning their plumage. Photo taken in the backyard. Viewing the same size - by pressing the 'L' key.

Robin having a wash and brush up.

Power washing windows and the netting we strung to protect birds after we moved here.

I stood inside to mop any stray water that seeped inside the window sills. (And to take photos from inside. Tough work ;-)

Focused on the netting as the water hit it. Used Silver efex pro to turn this black and white. Then used the Screen filter to bring back light hues in the barrel of tulips and hyacinths on the deck.

Thanks for looking. Running in place!

'I know the world is bruised and bleeding, and though it is important not to ignore its pain, it is also critical to refuse to succumb to its malevolence. Like failure, chaos contains information that can lead to knowledge - even wisdom. Like art.'

Spring Cleaning the archives, i thought these could do with some dust removal ....HFF

I guess "I don't do windows" isn't part of this guy's vocabulary! 18 floors up, dangling from a cable at Ottawa's Constitution Square.

I received some mails from people who thought that this is a real camera lens.

Day 80/365:

I've been having a bit of a spring clean. Yesterday I came across these little pots in my prop stash. Not sure I've used them before. Today cleaning out my kitchen cupboards I found some out of date spices and started to put them in the food waste but pulled myself up sharply...not before you take a photo! The little vintage pots along with my collection of vintage mustard spoons were the perfect accompaniment to the spices.

No inspiration for MM today.

Window washer, kudos to him, washing my Sunroom windows.

Spring cleaning can be a dangerous activity. Especially when putting the boxes up on the shelf!

I was doing some spring cleaning of my Lightroom folders and decided my Photostream needed some color. Needless to say, light was not an issue here.

Sometimes when I imagine something, it seems so real. I'm going to just go ahead and assume I actually did do this. Check.

New Flypaper Edges too!

Was sooo startled when this guy rappelled on my office window .... he did the motion of cleaning and then rappelled down to the next floor. Good thing my camera was on my desk and I had the wide angle on it. It happened so fast.

So I promised Jayson one of the hall closets when he moved in, but I never got around to emptying it, thinking it would be a simple matter of moving some boxes, "one of these days." Well, he was nagging me about needing the space, so I grabbed everything in an immature and selfish rush, throwing it all on my bed to get him to stop going on about it. Then I realized that I couldn't go to bed until I had gotten that stuff assimilated into the rest of the house!!!! I wasn't in the mood for it, but so what?

This time of year, I constantly daydream about warmer, sunnier weather. One thing we do to help the cold days pass is to do our deep cleaning once the weather turns. This usually starts in November and is done by the end of the year, helping us to start the new year fresh. It’s a great way to end the year!

Other than nesting in preparation for the winter, deep cleaning also helps us to find things that need to be replaced (due to being too old, broken, or expired, usually). Even more, it creates a clean, organized environment for us, which is ideal since we spend so much more time inside during these months. We always find at least several bags of items to donate to the local thrift store and never regret doing the cleaning.

Notebook from Yoloha, bandana from Wayfaring Wolves (Etsy).

These are the leaves that blew in from the trail during the winter as they're mostly oak. My yard should be all maple and tulip.

That english ivy plant behind me came up by itself. I keep forcing it to enjoy my fence, but it seems to prefer the 'wall' next door.

I've been randomly going through my Lightroom catalog and deleting a bunch of old stuff to make room for some new stuff. I find it fun to finally process shots that, for one reason or the other, just didn't inspire me at the time. There is a lot of pure junk, but you still find some nice stuff that just needs a little TLC... :)

Have a great weekend, everyone, and I'll see you next week...

This point called for coffee and camera break .....

It's about time to crank this baby and put into actions. This is my favorite toy among others. It is good and so much power.

June 4, 2020 - Me holding up my newly restrung Violin at Home tonight! Time for some Spring Cleaning and Spring Restringing! I played some pieces on my Violin after restringing it, and it sounds so much better now! A full set of String changes to Violins is recommended every six months to a year, if the strings are not broken.
