A HABSCO International, Inc. weed sprayer rumbles through Union Pacific's Lakota Yard in Orem, Utah on a warm May 1, 1990 afternoon. The modified locomotive was born Chicago Burlington & Quincy GP7 No. 245 in Nov. 1952. HABSCO encountered financial difficulties and sold the company to DeAngelo Brothers, Inc. in 1997. Many thanks to Mark Hemphill for his help with the caption.
A classic paceman SD40 leads the weed sprayer west along the Belleville sub over the Uxbridge. It's getting harder and harder to catch these pacmen SD40's...
Die Ufermauern des Donaukanals in Wien sind eine einzige, riesige Leinwand. Dort dürfen Graffiti-Sprayer nach Herzenslust und ganz legal sprühen. Darunter ist viel Sehenswertes.
The banks of the Danube Canal in Vienna are a single giant screen. There graffiti sprayers are allowed to spray for heart and legally.
Back when the weed sprayer ran with something good, family affairs would always get in the way. The one time I managed to get it, they stopped a mile away from my spot and ran back long hood forward, completely discarding the shot I had in mind. The past couple years they had an ECO, completely not worth it.
It seemed like I was cursed. It feels good to finally break it. Here, it descends the “high road” at Elm Grove with a KCS SD70MAC leading. A giant step up from the ECOs of the past couple years.
With the winds howling out of the south southwest on Sunday afternoon, Canadian Pacific's weed sprayer train decided to call it quits and tie the train down in the Watertown yard. Here, the SD30ECO leads the sprayer train down the yard lead just east of Watertown West.

This years weed sprayer train on the CPKC hints to the change in the air. Kansas City Southern SD70MAC 3963, is in charge of the weed sprayer train this year through Richwood. With the CP taking over the KCS and forming the CPKC (Canadian Pacific Kansas City railroad), the handsome locomotives of the KCS are more prevalent than in the past, while down on the KCS I hope they are enjoying the filthy rodents we northerners hold near and dear to our hearts...

CSX W053 creeps south through Oakland to tie down at Bristow Yard in Bowling Green. Due to wind, the dispatcher instructed them not to spray south of Horse Cave. SD40-2 8367 led the train south.

The annual CP, now CPKC spray train rolls by the west end of Ringold with CP 6055 taking the lead this year. Going surprisingly 25mph most of the way, it managed to spray from Kent Bridge to Walkersville in only 2 and a half hours, good time for the sprayer
The yearly weed sprayer train on CN has made its rounds, with this year Davey Tree Service winning the contract. A shorter train than in the past, this one was far more colorful than in years past as the power added a lot with a former J SD38 as the primary power. Passing through Haslett, the train casts a perfect reflection on the small pond in Nancy Moore Park.

Mist, man hat uns beim Sprayen erwischt :-) Promt: A scene on a bright, full-moon night in front of a large house with a freshly painted wall. In front of it stands a 70-year-old man with short gray hair and a short beard, wearing a red baseball cap and holding a can of spray paint, spraying Halloween ghosts on the wall. Next to him, perched on its hind legs, is a black and white Boston Terrier, also holding a can of spray paint in its front paws, spraying little ghosts on the wall. On the sidewalk next to the two, several pu
With the ditching and general maintenance done in the area, Canadian Pacific's weed sprayer train continues it's run eastbound into Watertown, at Watertown West to keep mother nature from overtaking the right of way.

At 8:03 p.m. on June 27, 2025, a lowly BNSF weed sprayer train plods across Bridge 73 spanning the Clark Fork at Noxon, Montana. It’s surely looking for a place to tie up for the night and get out of the way of mainline trains operating on the railroad’s MRL Fourth Subdivision, and is likely heading for the house track at Heron.
I had no color choice for the spray bottle which came with a classy flat black shirt press. Regardless of its color, the bottle does the job it's designed for.
