As soon as the sun is really there, the first athletes came. The rowers were coached from a motorboat. When the athletes drove off, the engine of the escort boat gave out. Luckily there was a second boat.

This Shaq action figure bears the imprint "Mine O’ Mine, Inc."(1993). It was a company founded, owned, and managed by basketball star Shaquille O’Neal. It operated within the performing arts sector.
I have checked online, and it appears to have closed down for good. Even so, it is an interesting collectible figure.
After many attempts and photos, I finally managed to keep both the player and the ball in focus. I don't think Shaq had ever posed so much. 😉 (Figure is less than 3" including negative space") HMM!

I am not a golfer, but I liked the golf ball photo included in the Macro Mondays examples. Given this, I borrowed a ball and tee from a neighbor to try my take on the image.
Note: I didn't really want to show the brand, but there didn't seem to be a good alternative.

J'en sais fichtre rien moi, je fais de l'activité physique. Le sport, très peu pour moi.
Par contre : me balader avec un sac photo de 5kg, un trépied de 2kg et un appareil photo de 3kg, c'est une aimable plaisanterie... :-))

Speedway races take place on a flat, oval track with a subsoil of calcareous sandstone. According to the official definition, this is a "surface of granite, slate, brick granules or similar unbound material on a subsoil of solid earth". Racers lay their machines sideways into corners (known as powersliding), with the rear wheels "kicking out" to steer them around corners with the front wheels. When cornering, riders brace themselves with their left leg to maintain balance. During this process, the foot is usually protected by a steel sliding shoe (steel shoe).
In a speedway race, four or six riders start at the same time in a standing start. Their bikes must weigh at least 80 kg, have no brakes and only one gear. The engines are 500 cc single-cylinder four-strokes with methanol as fuel. Speeds of up to 130 km/h are reached on the straights.
A race over four laps takes about one minute with a track length of 300 to 400 meters.
On Whit Monday 2023, MSC Abensberg traditionally held one of four qualifying races for the 2024 Speedway Grand Prix.
