Oh, my beautiful bycycle
you never tire or let me down.
How I wish people were just like you...
Your spokes ring of freedom as you carry me around,
You allow me to go wherever I wish,
How I wish people were just like you...
Here is my ode to my spokes.

The tide wave, ranging the planet, spoke
On all our foreshores as it broke :
"Know now what Man I gave you-I, the Ocean!"
Rudyard Kipling
The crow spoke to her about his life, his dreams and his desires and the young woman listened to him attentively, touched... she admired his freedom...
“Listen…” His words trailed off with a sigh. When he did that I knew what was coming next.
He gestured to the side and spoke again, “I know you’re the Princess and all, but you can’t have me locking up every person who looks at you the wrong way.”
I stopped and gave him one of my winning smiles, I even added a brief batting of my eyes for extra measure. “You like it.” I gave him a light tap to his chest and started walking again.
I knew he rolled his eyes at me, I could feel it. A moment later he followed after, re-taking up his position as my guard. He has had his position for over two-years now and not once had he hesitated to take care of anyone who came at me with ill-intentions. Sometimes I liked to think it was simply because he was good at his job, but other times I wondered if it was something else . . .

Maybe even Enzo Ferrari was inspired by such spokes.
A close-up of the trishaw that can be seen in its entirety in the next photo. These two will be the last in my series on Malaccan trishaws, some of you may be relieved to know ;-)
Everyone has to have a shot of the Great Court roof at the British Museum and the Millennium Wheel on the South Bank of the River Thames. So this completes my set! :)

This curious cat spoke a language of kindness.
It seems that when a cat mysteriously appears, it is a good sign. If it had one paw up, I would know for sure! This sweet kitty saw me then came up to me and rubbed its head against my foot as I was on my morning walk. It started to follow me and I wondered where its home was. I would have loved for it to follow me home, but for one thing, it belongs to someone else...
I stopped walking for awhile so it could decide what to do. Anyway, it made its way home.

The black steel struts fan out like the spokes of a clock, while the warm wooden steps spiral downwards. A minimal composition, made up of just two materials and two colors.

In the days of hand-cranked telephones, a rotating coil of copper wire inside these five "horseshoe" magnets produced a current that signaled the phone company operator that you wanted to make a call.

These are the spokes of the dill flower - this specimen had already bloomed and was dried out. The focus is off a bit - not sure why I didn't focus on the center hub - but nevertheless I think it makes for an interesting photograph.
Thanks to everyone for stopping by to view, fave, and comment!!
I passed by Spoke House a bike shop and they had the tree and presents set up in one of the roll up overhead door openings. I kept the frame tight to cut out much of the business and just bring a pixel load of joy.

The tide had just turned and the northerly we currently have was blowing directly in to my face and if it hadn't felt like Autumn before it certainly did this morning.
I came for some large waves but the relatively low high tide meant that they were no more than a couple of feet so another 'make the most of what you have,' morning.
Spoke to a few other guys who also don't know why the diggers have been out at the other end of New Brighton. Google has been no help either.
And I remember being younger, and my mother told me truth
Find someone who grows flowers in the darkest parts of you
Take heed when things get hard and don't you ever turn around
You'll find someone, someday, somewhere
That'll grow you to the clouds, oh
And you walked me home that evening when I could barely walk
And you spoke to me so sweetly on the days I couldn't talk
And now I'm seeing clearly and I'm growing up so free
Sweetest of the sunflowers, yeah, you're the sun to me

Spoke with the owner of this property. House was last lived in 1989. Has since been vandalized and painted with graffiti. This old Ford has not been painted yet but other vehicles at this location have been. I was given permission to go onto the property to photograph this old beauty.
