The locals have dubbed the bold design of The Esplanade, a world class performing arts centre of Singapore as "durian" which is a spiky tropical fruit.
Well that’s what I think his name anyway. What do you reckon it is? This is one of our Australian echidnas shredding a log looking for yummy morsels like ants and grubs. He was awaiting his rehabilitation and release from Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary in Tasmania.

Cactus spikes...taken at the new Arid Garden, Melbourne Botanical Gardens.The longest spike on the left is about an inch long. The colourful background are the cactus blooms.
