Spending time at the beach is so rewarding not only photographically speaking but spiritual in some ways as well. I noticed this coin operated telescope on Newport Pier, It costs a quarter and is the same telescope my dad held me up to look through when I was a little kid. It was nice to recall a memory buried behind all the other photoshop stuff giving my brain a wedgie. :)
Made by The Sea Coast Corporation, it was purchased by the city of newport beach to encourage activity on the pier.

I woke up this morning
I looked outside my window
Where children lighting up the Christmas tree
And the snow is falling
It reminds me of the good times
Those winters we would spend just you and me
It's been such a long time
But tomorrow's Christmas day
And I am on my way
Spending a little time for a rose.
Used some Topaz filter and a texture from Melissa Gallo!!
Wish you a lovely new week!!

Bald eagle with a fish at Conowingo Dam.
Conowingo Dam on the Susquehanna river is, probably, the best spot to see bald eagles east of Mississippi. In late Fall, hundreds migrate through the area and spend time here to fish under the dam.
After spending a few hours on Mormon Row to catch sunrise, I drove a bit farther back along Antelope Flats Road and hiked out onto the prairie to capture this image of a bison leading his gang (that's really what they're called) across the flat, and away from the areas where tourists usually inhabit during the day.
The gang was moving pretty fast, not stopping much to forage, so I wasn't able to make an image of them directly in front of the iconic Cathedral Group. After seeing this movement, I walked back to my Jeep and noticed two isolated bison across the road. In probably my riskiest move of the entire trip, I hiked to within about 75 yards of those two, but was unable to catch a clean image, as they kept in pretty tall brush, and repeatedly laid down. There was no iconic background from my vantage, as the mountains were at my back. Figuring I had a pretty good day, I decided not to press my luck further and returned to the Jeep in search of more landscape images.

We spend our lives waiting for something to happen and the only thing that happens is life.
Contraluz en la playa del Palo- Málaga.
She spends much of her day sleeping now, lying on the comforter with an old throw pillow, raising her head at any commotion, but rarely rising to see. Lying outside when the day cools is another pleasure, watching her world go by. What a wonderful companion she has been. 💔
After spending some time scouting The Queen's Garden Loop Trail on my 2nd day, I returned later that evening and ran across this unique looking tree and it reminded me of the photos i've seen of the old gnarled tree in Schulman Grove in the Bristlecone Forest, which still sits on my bucket list. This one turned out a bit grainy even though I used some light panels and ISO 1600 to minimize the noise but I thought it still looked interesting. I still have a lot to learn and this is part of the road to MW nirvana which still eludes me. I suspect it's the fact that I have a crop sensor camera when I really should be using a Full Frame for this kind of photography, or it could be operator malfunction and inexperience. I probably won't know until I upgrade, I'm holding out for the 6D Mrk II which should be out spring 2016. :)
Thank you for taking the time to take a look at my photos and as always, your views, comments, faves, and support are greatly appreciated!! Have a great week ahead everyone :)

I'm spending a lot of time with the birds at the moment...
It's cold.. they're hungry. In return for food, I get to photograph them. It's a good equation :-)
I think this one probably has a leg injury, otherwise these birds rest and sleep standing up. But it looked content... calm. I'm sure it was enjoying the light.
Comments off for this one...
with my thanks for the quiet company :-)
NECR 610 spends the weekend without a crew in Willimantic at the crew office with a pair of blue and golds up front.
First time I have seen, or photographed one of these, UKs most threatened butterfly. The male is on the left.
I decided to take a drive down to south Devon to camp for several nights, with the specific intention of spending a day on Aish Tor to see HBFs. So I spent 8 hours on Sunday on Aish Tor. It was exceedingly hard work, once I got up onto the hillside, having parked in my ignorance of the location, at Newbridge car park down on the River Dart; it was sultry and very hot and the butterflies had twin turbo boost full on: they simply never seemed to stop moving. Added to that, there were ticks everywhere in the sea of metre high bracken that covered the hillside, so long sleeves and trousers tucked into socks was de rigeur and made it even less comfortable!
Having spent much of the the morning, tagging along with a lady who had been before and seemed to know the best location, I branched off alone to search higher up the slopes where fritillaries seemed more frequent. It was 3 hours altogether before I had one settled on bramble flower in a less than ideal location, low down in a corner of a small area cleared of bracken. In mid afternoon another one showed up to investigate dog poo on the path where I was resting. Not long after that I had another male nectaring on bramble, but it was tight to photograph in a narrow path trodden through the bracken. Late in the afternoon I was shown these two mating specimens by a couple I spoke to, which probably saved the day!
Thank you for your faves and comments.
Sea otters spend the majority of their day taking it easy, resting by floating on their backs. Groups or "rafts" of sea otters congregate in calm, quiet waters. The highest number of sea otters recorded in such a raft totaled over two thousand animals - that would have been quite a sight to see!
This one would float peacefully, stretch a bit and preen, then resume the "position." Sounds like a great way to spend a lazy, Friday afternoon!
Have a blessed weekend! Thank you so much for your views and comments! They are greatly appreciated!

I have to ask my Flickr Friends what sense does it make in spending this vast amount of money on politics when we need it for life globally and here in the USA whether it be food, drink, health, climate change and war amongst other things? Are all the dollars really worth it? Can democracy really be bought? How much difference do the dollars actually make?
HSS 😊😊😍
Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️❤️❤️
Tofu is active in the morning and relaxes in the afternoon. The photo was taken on Sunday but as Tofu doesn't have to work he sticks to this schedule during the week too. What changes are the places where he descides to spend his afternoon siesta. On Sunday he chose the rocking chair in the living room.

After spending time investigating Roberts Creek, I drove along the coastal road and found the Roberts Creek Provincial Park. This entire area attracts a good deal of tourism in the summer so this time of year finds those same places somewhat empty of people. Except for one other person, this place was mine to play in.
After many angles, and numerous shots, this is the image that was in my mind. The sweeping stone stairs on a hill had drawn my attention, with the carpet of Autumn leaves laying undisturbed. Their vivid colors were in stark contrast to the grey stairs, while the fence and green foliage would support them in the background. I wanted to exaggerate the stairs and how they swept across the view so getting close with a wide angle lens was necessary. It was a fun afternoon with the time needed to find what lay behind the camera.
Wow! Imagine that the temperature outside your house was almost 50 degrees hotter than it usually is. After three days of having the temperature inside our house registering 95 to 100 degrees, I have now found myself breathing easier. This morning I spent time reacquainting myself with some of my favorite plant friends. These moments are some of the blessings in life. Deep thoughts for a quiet afternoon of reflection. :)
We spend our years as a tale that is told. The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

I’ve been spending my free time in SL (when I’m not blogging) building my home and putting it together nicely. I’m pretty proud of what I’ve accomplished thus far. I was working on the dining room yesterday and sorta happened on this photo. It happened organically and I gotta say, I love it! The scene is comprised of a couple elements, some old and some new. The table, candlesticks, vase, and coffee are all from Apple Fall and the fireplace is NEW from Love homes and it’s available now at We ❤ RP {July 4th-July 31st}.

After spending some time doing long exposures on our one and only morning at the Grundlsee it was already pretty bright and I thought about going back to our room, but luckily I did not. I still walked around and took a few snapshots and as I packed my gear the sun all of a sudden peaked above the mountains. I quickly took my camera out of my bag and decided to take some images without the tripod since setting up the tripod would have taken too long. In hindsight, it would have been nice to take a panorama, but since I didn't expect this to happen I just had a single image which I cropped to 2:1. Anyway, I really like the colors, the sunstar and the cute little duck :) Hope you like it too!
After spending the night at the Lac de Castillion I checked out the Baie d'Angles for some nice picture spots.
Slight shower weather and no wind made a really nice atmosphere.

Spending lots of time with the hummers in my yard as I recover from surgery, They have gotten used to me now and don't seem to mind the camera.
Spending time at home means digging into the closet and pulling out all of those old classics like Sorry, Trouble, Kerplunk, and of course Lite-Brite!
Spend time with your friends,
for days drop like falling leaves
-- so, share each new day.
On this morning, I got to share some time with a wonderful friend in a new marsh location that keeps drawing me back at St. Mark's National Wildlife Refuge in Florida. There is nothing quite like feeling the warmth of a sunrise to get your day off to a great start. So, hoping to share a bit of that experience with all of my Flickr friends! Good morning and hope everyone has a great day ahead!
Spending more time than usual at the lagoon during this pandemic discovering its natural beauty. This evening I happened upon a bird which was unfamiliar to me, a Yellow-Crowned Night Heron. He seemed very comfortable with me shooting him at a fairly close distance...or perhaps he was just hungry enough not to care. He spent his time walking the shore looking for a tasty crab dinner.

Linus spends a lot of time outdoors and hides somewhere under the plants. His camouflage isn't as good as Fynn's or Sethi's but sometimes it's still not easy to find him. Today I had a vet appointment for Fynn and wanted to take Linus with me because he has some ugly fur mats which I wanted the vet to remove (Linus hates any contact with a brush or comb). It didn't work out as planned, though, because Linus was nowhere to be found, Fynn and I left the house alone. When we returned home, Linus sat on the terrace, all innocent but slightly too pleased with himself for my taste.
Sorry for not being very present on Flick at the moment. I have a pinched nerve in my neck and can hardly move. It won't be possible for me to catch up with all of your photos because the pinched nerve causes a terrible headache and I can't look at a computer screen for long.
Spending a lot of time at home can lead to mischief. I've watched some tutorials I've had for a long time and have bought some new ones to keep me occupied. In this image, I used a technique to enlarge the lighthouse in order to counter its miniaturization from having used a wide-angle lens. Going that far I played with some Orton like affects which look pretty to me (today), if a bit unnatural. Feel free to be critical if this isn't your kind of thing. Stay safe.
I spend a lovely day with Terri Toll up in the Rocky's, Fall River, just below Chasm Falls in Rocky Mountain National Park.thank you so much Terri for jogging my memory ☺☺☺☺

After spending the night at St Marys and with a great forecast for the next day it was rather disappointing to find the dawn filled with blanket fog. The coal train departed in thick fog at 09.00. I was however rather fortunate to find a little gap near Hanleth and wasted no time in sending up my trusty companion to capture the train rounding a gentle curve through a half gap in the fog near Hanleth.
