'UFO over airport causes speculations'.
Seems they still don't know what it was. The 'UFO' didn't appear on the radars - but was well-visible. Probably made of plastic? Or they test a 'radar-invisble' helicopter? No idea. But if you like unusual things to happen - come to Bremen! It's a nice city anyway. ;)

This sculpture is part of 'Material Speculation: ISIS', a project by Morehshin Allahyari to recreate destroyed artefacts from Mosul Museum. Embedded inside is a flash drive and memory card containing images, videos and documents relating to the original object. Sealing this archive within the replica she creates an alternative way of preserving heritage. Allahyari shares data online, inviting engagement with both the history and future of lost artefacts.

Destroying cultural heritage often strikes at the heart of our communities. What Remains highlights historic and contemporary moments where places, art and artefacts have been attacked by those who wish to exploit or even erase whole civilizations from history. Spanning 100 years, discover stories such as Hitler’s Baedeker Raids in 1942, where German bombers targeted historic towns and cities noted in travel guides of Britain, and the Taliban destruction of the Bamiyan Buddhas in 2001.

The physical nature of lunar rays has historically been a subject of speculation. Early hypotheses suggested that they were deposits of salt from evaporated water. Later they were thought to be deposits of volcanic ash or streaks of dust. After the impact origin of craters became accepted, Eugene Shoemaker suggested during the 1960s that the rays were the result of fragmented ejecta material.
Recent studies suggest that the relative brightness of a lunar ray system is not always a reliable indicator of the age of a ray system. Instead the albedo also depends on the portion of iron oxide (FeO). Low portions of FeO result in brighter materials, so such a ray system can retain its lighter appearance for longer periods. Thus the material composition needs to be factored into the albedo analysis to determine age.
Among the lunar craters on the near side with pronounced ray systems are Aristarchus, Copernicus, Kepler, Proclus, Dionysius, Censorinus, Glushko, and Tycho. Similar ray systems also occur on the far side of the Moon, such as the rays radiating from the craters Giordano Bruno, Necho, Ohm, Jackson, King, and the small but prominent Pierazzo.

This is from a series I call Documentary Expressionism - Where using source photos collected from real events in the world I make an expression of art with hopefully a respect to that event. During this expression the relative size of characters can grow bigger or smaller & their species may transform & even mix together!
This project is my speculation about presumable existence of parallel universes. The universe is infinite, but there is only limited amount of particles everything is made of. That means, that any combination of limited amount of participles will repeat again. Theory of hyperspace says, that our universe is just one small bubble in the foam full of bubbles.What if somewhere there, in the depth of infinite universe, exists exactly the same version of me?

'Singapore by Singapore: From myth to neon realism' was a screening of recent, rare, and never-before-screened film and video by 9 artists and filmmakers from Singapore. Tracing the evolution of Singapore ‘from mangrove to metropolis’, the films explore the island through a range of mythical and personal perspectives. These include sunny scenes of local sights in the 1960s, reflections on the May 13 Generation, and speculations about its original founder, the Srivijayan prince Sang Nila Utama.
The programme highlighted the films’ original and critical approaches towards Singaporean history, culture and identity. Drawing on a range of styles and techniques, the films reveal nuances, tensions and diversity in these ideas, particularly the notion of Singapore as an emblematic modern city.
Shot on 16 mm film, Rajendra Gour’s 'Sunshine singapore' (1968–72) captures the island’s beginnings as an independent state, interspersing idyllic views of iconic landmarks with accelerated footage of busy streets. 'Chinatown. Electric soul #01' (2013) by Nelson Yeo explores the impact of urban development on the island. It features scenes of local people languorously wandering around Chinatown at night. In 'Solitary moon' (2010), Eva Tang presents a more abstract view of this development. In the film, neon lights and interiors of office buildings spark contemplation about the nature—and pressures—of contemporary life.
As described by programme curators Silke Schmickl and Nicole Brenez, portraits of Singapore in these films are based ‘not on the capturing of appearances but the complexity of incessant and multiple movements of people, capital and ideas’.
A new rule to be proposed by Commodity Futures Trading Commission Commissioner Bart Chilton would harden regulation of the paper trading aspect of the commodity market. The agency's effort to address excessive speculation reignites due to the nearing retirement of its chief economist Jeffrey Harris, who opposed reform in this area.
