A dark-painted Westland Lysander in flight with its boarding ladder still attached, hinting at its role in secret WWII night missions. These aircraft carried agents and supplies into occupied Europe under the cover of darkness. The ladder detail reminds us of the daring operations and ingenuity required for these clandestine flights.

Catching the evening light, US Air Force Special Operations Group Boeing CV-22 Osprey seen departing from her home-base at RAF Mildenhall.
'Tilt-rotor' technology went through a hugely protracted gestation period, but it now seems to have established itself as a highly capable solution for many aspects of three of the US military services operations.

Took a run up to Mildenhall this evening to get the Kazakhstan CASA 295. When we get there two of the local hercs were in the circuit. They weren't doing your average circuits and bumps, though, looked like they were practising special ops stuff (hardly surprising really!). On this approach, the front one landed whilst the second one was very close but was jinking around a lot and then overshot. Looked very impressive, and the golden evening light made the whole thing even more pleasant.

The Light Tank M24 is an American light tank used during the latter part of World War II and in postwar conflicts including the Korean War and, with the French, in the War in Algeria and the First Indochina War. In British service it was given the service name Chaffee, after the United States Army General Adna R. Chaffee, Jr., who helped develop the use of tanks in the United States armed forces. While long removed from American and British service, it is still found in service as a light tank in third-world countries, along with other hardware from that era.
Massive credit to all the other Lego Chaffee Tank builders out there, really helped make this one an easier build! ; )

A PBR or Patrol Boat Riverine patrols the waterways of Vietnam looking at a nearby Sampan to pull over and search for possible smuggled weaponry. Massive shout out to all the other Lego PBR's as they inspired me to build one. It's 10 wide, fits a full fig in dual MG turret and turns too, canvas roof comes off in one piece to access inside, lots of other cool little features I can even remember lol. I got more Nam era Armour on the way soon enough. I really would like to see more people build some too ; )
Massive thanks to Todd aka "Florida Shoooter" for the edit, cheers bud.
