Power Amps are the Mark Levinson Dual Mono design #331, #332 & #333. All Amps are connected to the Casablanca III-HD's Xtreme DAC's Balanced Analog Outputs, using Cardas Golden Referance Balanced Interconnects, with a power output totaling 2,400 watts @ 4ohms driving 5 speakers.
Digital sources inc. the Theta Digital HDMI 1.3 Compli-blu and an Esoteric DV50s for Blu-ray/DVD/SACD/CD, a Direct TV HR-20 HD-DVR and a Toshiba HD-DVD player.
Analog sources inc. the Magnum Dynalab MD-102T Triode Tube Analog FM Tuner with remote and the Esoteric DV-50s is also used for 2 channel SACD's, since it's analog outputs are superior to those of the Compli-blu.
While the Esoteric DV-50s is capable of delivering Multi-channel SACD via it's analog outputs, I prefer to use the HDMI output of the Compli-blu for Mult-channel SACD.
AC Power is supplied through the PS Audio Power Plant Premier & Monster HTS3600 MK II, Granite Audio Model #560 AC Cables are connected to the PS Audio Soloist & Power Port AC wall recepticles.
An Aerial Acoustics CC-5 Center Channel Speaker is below a 60" Pioneer Elite Pro-150 Plasma TV.

I am very proud to announce that the Casablanca unit pictured above was chosen to be
"The Worlds First, HDMI 1.4 Edition, Casablanca III-HD Music And Cinema Controller".
It has now possible to have a production model CB-III upgraded to HDMI.
Although it is a standard production model in almost every way, this particular CB-III had been factory built with unique custom cosmetic work performed.
This customization was very kindly furnished by Theta to meet my personal requirements.
Theta Digital was also kind enough to similarly customize the new
Compi-blu, Blu-ray player, so that it too would visually enhance the appearance of my system and perfectly match my new CB-IIIHD!
These seemingly little things play an important part in what has helped Theta stay at the forefront of the high-end audio industry for so many years.
I cannot help but to once again thank Craig Shumer of Theatermax LLC. in NJ for making it possible for me to get "The Worlds First HDMI Edition, Casablanca III-HD Music And Cinema Controller" and at the same time, convince Theta Digital to go out of their way to produce just this one customized machine for me.

The Front Left Velodyne DD-12 Subwoofer and Front Left Model 9 Speaker looking For Their Final Resting Places.
Edit: It appears that while the Magnaplaner speakers that used to occupy these corners reacted well here, these speakers being of an entirely different design, do not react with the room in the same manner. Some acoustic room treatments are now required here in the form of bass traps to help smooth out the room response a bit more then what the built in electronic room correction in the sub-woofers can afford. Change never seems to have an end, yet it still sounds AWESOME! The best I have ever experienced in my own home.
In a few months, an HDMI upgrade should become available for my CBIII Music and Cinema controller, which will then allow it to decode the new lossless hi-resolution audio formats found on blu-ray discs.The sound should be nothing short of astonishing.
EDIT: While it took quite a bit longer the a few more months, the long awaited CB-IIIHD Music And Cinema Controller has finally been released!

When radios were sold as fine furniture. Stromberg-Carlson was highly regarded for superior quality, luxury radios. Their reputation was built on fine engineering, advanced audio technology, and beautifully crafted furniture-grade cabinets. Many of their premium console sets featured the "Acoustical Labyrinth" speaker system, a baffled enclosure that improved bass response and prevented internal acoustic resonance that would otherwise distort the sound.
As a legacy telecommunications company, Stromberg-Carlson had an early reputation for reliable and durable equipment. This carried over to their radio chassis, which were known to be well-built and easy to service. Their wooden cabinets were highly praised for their solid construction, use of quality wood veneers, and their striking Art Deco designs. High-end models included advanced features for the era, such as multi-band reception (broadcast and shortwave) and motorized tuning with station presets.

Some years ago I was about to lose a lot of Lufthansa airmiles and had to quickly cash them in for products from their website. One of the items I chose was this Bose Series I SoundDock.
As cool as the SoundDock is, I have to admit that we hardly ever used it. It stood in my office for a while, and if I played music through it more than two dozen times, that would be a lot. Since then it's been languishing in its box, just taking up space, and so it's time to move it on to someone who's going to optimise its potential!
The UK-spec SoundDock comes in it's original box with all original packaging and documentation. It is in perfect condition, with no scratches and no signs of use (other than a little dust). It comes with:
- Original remote control
- Various cradles for a range of iPods. Additional adaptor cradles for iPhones can be found on eBay for £10 or so
- Power pack
- Power cable
- All original manuals and paperwork
The Series I SoundDock is easily upgradable for iPhone 5 (and other devices) as outlined here and BlueTooth Adaptors seem to go for under £20.00. More than just an add-on, the Triode Tube Option, or "T" class upgrade, is a sweeping step forward using an entirely new main circuit board. Features of the MD-102T include: A double sided 0.093 thick circuit board with enhanced ground plane design and oxygen free wiring, a.toroid transformer, the Zero feedback triode tube output stage, Solen and Mundorf M-Cap Supreme polypropylene film capacitors.
Magnum-Dynalab believes strongly that analog tuners (rather than digital) sound more like music. Though this is a costly design strategy, Magnum feels the benefits are significant and remains one of the only companies making analog tuners today.
The MD-102 employs a tunable five stage analog front end (the more stages, the better), providing station separation without affecting stereo separation. Precision tunable matched IF (intermediate frequency) amplifiers ensure consistent specifications for adjacent channel separation, alternate channel separation and low distortion.

In the tube stage are Mundorf M-Cap-Supreme polypropylene dielectric capacitors. Two capacitor windings are used in these special caps. The two windings are interleaved so that their inductance's effectively cancel each other out. These two windings are connected in series. This means that it takes two 2µF windings to make a single 1µF M-Cap-Supreme capacitor - the same amount that it would take to produce a full 4µF of capacity using conventional technology! As cool as the SoundDock is, I have to admit that we hardly ever used it. It stood in my office for a while, and if I played music through it more than two dozen times, that would be a lot. Since then it's been languishing in its box, just taking up space, and so it's time to move it on to someone who's going to optimise its potential!
The UK-spec SoundDock comes in it's original box with all original packaging and documentation. It is in perfect condition, with no scratches and no signs of use (other than a little dust). It comes with:
- Original remote control
- Various cradles for a range of iPods. Additional adaptor cradles for iPhones can be found on eBay for £10 or so
- Power pack
- Power cable
- All original manuals and paperwork
The Series I SoundDock is easily upgradable for iPhone 5 (and other devices) as outlined here and BlueTooth Adaptors seem to go for under £20.00. I've even found these BlueTooth receivers selling for less than £8.00. Good grief - for less under £5.00 one can buy dongle to convert the earlier 30-pin Apple connector to the current 8-pin connector. Damn - maybe I should just hang on to the Bose! :-(
