"If you look back at the great classics and the epics and myths, they were for everyone. Different people got different things from them, but everyone was invited to participate." ~ Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni
Random shot from top deck of Edinburgh bus on South Bridge. I think the Space Invaders are reflections of the bus ceiling lights but maybe not...........🤔

Arabian nights in the 2ème arrondissement of Paris. Perfectly integrated into the environment and with a wink to the street name and the adjacent gallery.

[ Visited this arabian nights for the first time on a very rainy night 5 days after invasion and had to come back for a proper photo ]
NOTE TO PHOTOGRAPHERS: This space invader is best seen on a cloudy day strange enough due to the fact that this always be partly in shade on sunny days. Or give it a try in the morning.

The adventures of Daffy Duck in Paris start on this wall in the 5ème arrondissement. Daffy Duck is an animated cartoon character produced by Warner Bros. Styled as an anthropomorphic black duck, the character has appeared in cartoon series such as Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies, where he usually has been depicted as the best friend and occasional arch-rival of Bugs Bunny. Daffy was one of the first of the new "screwball" characters that emerged in the late 1930s to replace traditional everyman characters who were more popular earlier in the decade, such as Mickey Mouse and Popeye. Daffy starred in 133 shorts in the golden age, making him the third-most frequent character in the Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies cartoons, behind Bugs Bunny's 166 appearances and Porky Pig's 159 appearances. [ Visited Daffy Duck PA_1189 one day after invasion, but it was already dark, came back on the morning of 03/04/2016 but I was too late, Daffy was already half in the shade (not nice at all for a proper photo) and came back on this sunny Sunday morning to get the best shot in full sunlight. ]
i had to climb up the roof-ladder of the building two doors down-- entrance is through the alley south of melrose. not that hard to get up-- basically a scamper up one story, then a short climb over the roof to get a clear shot. sadly, the great obey piece across the street is much harder to get access to-- i cased a couple of buildings but got yelled at by people inside, and the alley ladders were totally latched off.

Nothing is as changeable as the wall in front of the house where Serge Gainsbourg lived. Space invader PA_801 has disappeared a few times but is always reactivated by the fanatical space invader fans. In 2009 this was space invader number 2147 in the world.
A photo especially taken and uploaded for the
Onscreen FlashInvaders message: BIEN!

Mosaic art installed at ESA’s spacecraft operations centre ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany, on the grey building on the right. French artist Invader is installing his iconic art at ESA establishments all over Europe and even on the International Space Station.
The European Space Operations Centre ensures the smooth working of spacecraft in orbit. Its control rooms, linked to ground stations all over the world, track and control satellites, and carry out payload operations and routine systems monitoring.
After ESA astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti found a space invader called ‘Space2’ in the Columbus space laboratory, the space-themed art has appeared at the European Astronaut Centre in Cologne, Germany and at ESA’s Redu Centre in Belgium, where satellites are controlled and tested as part of ESA’s ground station network.
Mission control believes Invader will organise more invasions and activate aliens at other ESA establishments throughout the year. Follow their progress on Twitter via #space2iss and #SpaceInvader.

THE INVASION OF CLERMONT-FERRAND
The first (two?) invasion wave(s) of the center of Clermont-Ferrand occured in the year 2000 and consisted 8 space invaders, 4 of them are still there (including 1 re-activation) and flashable.
In January 2016 Clermont-Ferrand was invaded again, the 3rd invasion wave took place:
"At the occasion of the screening of the very last version of the movie Art4Sspace at the Interntional Short Film Festival of Clermont-Ferrand, I have added 31 new creations to the city of the center of France. Among various themes, they refer to movies and cinema but also to what Clermont Ferrand is famous for : its gothic cathedrale, its volcanos, its Michelin factories and its Serge Gainsbourg street" (Invader)
