My take on the Big Muff, using the "Der Muff Green Russian - Distortion kit" from Das Musikding as a base and the Blackout Effectors Musket Fuzz as an inspiration for mods. It has the Focus (Lowend) and Mids knobs as found in the first incarnation of the Musket and a smoothness switch I came up with myself.
Read all about it on the Workbench of the UK Les Paul Forum: Done a bit of Muff research.

Systemdek IIX turntable with Audioquest PT-5 tonearm and Dynavector 10x5 cartridge. Amps are Bottlehead Paramours running Sovtek 2a3 driver tubes single ended triode of course. All of 3 watts of power. But, with horn speakers with a 100+db sensitivity a lot of power is not needed.
E-H/Sovtek Small Stone, new battery snap. Here you can see the new snap wired up. I kept extra length from the original snap, because the leads from the new snap weren't long enough.
Haltron" is a brand of "Hall Electric Ltd.", London
They were "repackers" like Zaerix, Ultron, Hoges, RSD.
They bought tubes from wherever they could, and re-stamped and packed them and sold them under their own brand. In the 50s and 60s the tubes were mostly US tubes, later Sovtek and chinese tubes. However, on some is printed "Made in England".
