"None for me, thanks."

A little R & R with a hint of coolness for tourists visiting the Orsay Museum in Paris, a little need for sugar & coffee is appreciated before continuing to soak-in the magnificent artwork. One musn't forget that this old railway station was the last stop for some of the last trains bringing home prisoners of war (39-45).

Butternut squash, chicken and quinoa soup with Parmesan crackers

Gad, two passes in one day to shoot the very tree with the terrible sense of location, location, location. This is the third of my rock-splitting ponderosa shots. The day is changing complexion and that warrants another shot. The sky is starting to look ominous. I am still avoiding that summons from The Donald, Inc. with this series. But then, The Don, gropester in charge, gives such wonderful gifts that keep on grifting. Ah, there is so little reality left for reality media, it is almost unreal! What a concept, pay only lawyers to bash labor and small contractors; rip suckers for fake university educations; buy pageants for new groping territory! Sounds like the perfect scams especially for the premier narcissist. What? Once groped, permanently quiet, really? Was he a scholar of the Bill Cosby school but uses different drugs? I think it is a bad thought to challenge Hillary with drug tests. We knew that he would never debate Bernie; chickens are always uncomfortable around someone named Sanders. Think it through before opening the pie hole, more bad advice probably. Whoosh, I am starting to feel really sorry for the damage done to his own family. It will be interesting how this will play out as he continually emboldens his gropees who come out of what he thought was permanent obscurity. I'm waiting for the final and ultimate explosion. Should be bonkers!

Rentless onward as stated by the late great Walt Kelly. Everyone wants to be in pictures! Here is another shot that I refuse to pump for effect and probably don't need to anyway. Here we are again on the Peak to Peak Highway bypass above Peaceful Valley and Cave Creek. We usually pause to snap the dwarf, stunted ponderosa pine atop the rock. I've shot it before, myself. The sky cooperated with some outrageous skies to aid in defining the tree that could eventually split the rock, Time and Pressure. Time and pressure! And that, of course, will be it's own destruction if it hasn't sunk roots to actual ground.

eDDie and I headed back north on Peak to Peak Scenic highway. We retraced our path back north and ended up at Estes for a roll down the canyon. We always hope for good skies when foraging but this is a bit much. They say the bear, like clouds, came over the mountain to see what he could see. There are laws against feeding wildlife up here and I sincerely hope the wildlife concurs.

eDDie usually stops at his rock of aegis on our way past and this stop gave us wonderful skies if a complex light range. I shot for the bright sky. We tightened our hiking boots and had already packed mass quantities of captures on our cards. Ahh, why not another foray?

Classic Mami Soup with Chicken and Pork - You just can't go wrong with this soup. The broth was delicious and the whole soup just warmed you from inside out.

Soup's On is a special kind of recipe collection. It's a collection of recipes to support the work of God's Kitchen, a soup kitchen in Grand Rapids, Michigan that serves hearty, healthy meals to individuals who are homeless.

The real estate community in Grand Rapids Michigan has supported this effort for years. Ed Vogt, an agent with Audu Real Estate has volunteered just about every Friday for as long as I've known her.

This recipe book was a gift to me from a fellow Grand Rapids real estate broker when we served as directors together.

The recipes include members of the real estate and greater Grand Rapids community. It's truly a labor of loving community.

after he finished his own bowl of borscht, and after we got him pretty well wiped down, he spied rachel starting to eat her own dinner -- and he found himself a plastic spoon from somewhere and attempted to help himself to seconds.

Another photo inspired by the recent outbreak of E. Coli in Gernany. Biologists have identified the nature of the deadly strain of E. Coli which caused the death of several people in Germany and affected thousands. However not very much is known about its origin. This outbreak was first linked to cucumbers ... but salads, tomatoes could also be the vector. Let's hope the origin of the colonny of bacteria will be found quickly.

This page is about how my dog likes to get under our beds. I caught her in a couple pics and knew it would make a cute story for a page.

I used the second sketch here:

And I'm also using this for the MSAM Cabin Fever crop - "Soup's On" challenge:

The pink, squares, and yellow are all courtesy of the Echo Park Capture Life papers. Sprinkle of something - I used arrows

"Cream" - I used gesso because I didn't want to cover up the cool paper and I wanted to make the transparencies stand out better (although I ended up just outlining them in black pen anyway!), and I also splattered the page with paint.

Thanks,

Cynthia

Couldn't pass up this 2 cup clear Pyrex bowl, and once I got home decided it would be the perfect replacement for the ugly soup bowl I'd been using for my daily oatmeal. Soup's On no more! ;)

An outbreak of E. Coli caused the death of several people in Germany and thousands were also affected. This outbreak was first linked to cucumbers ... but it might not be the case. As I write, the origin of the deadly strain of E. Coli is not known.

I tried to illustrate the news by slicing a cucumber and placing a label next to it.

In Wisconsin, there is an idyllic phrase for the activity of packing the car and traveling northward for a week camping or traveling to a cabin by the lake "up nord." It implies that you have chosen to travel back in time to a place that is simple, unfettered with urban trappings and dedicated to leisure. For after all, it is assumed most would not choose to live in such places year-round with the extreme frigid winters being a primary deterrent. Therefore summers and fall seasons witness droves of visitors seeking northern destinations.

The woman in the photo is actually my friend, Chris. We traveled by car and a car ferry to access Washington Island for a week long get-away. We stayed in this cabin owned by a mutual friend Terese. She and her husband offer friends week rental periods for those of us desiring to leave the city and hang out along the lake and relax.

Maximizing relaxation time means that the women in our group took turns making meals for the others. Can't beat a week of laughter, great food and relaxation midst beautiful setting suns and the sounds of loons lulling us to sleep.

I love being served - and isn't Chris an aptly dressed cabin waitress from "up nord"?

New England Clam Chowder.

**Thick, creamy, buttery, good amount of clams, the kind of soup that will warm you up and stick to your ribs. Delicious!

unfussy, uncluttered, unpretencious, uncooked but still appealing.
